I'd play Samaras too but heard he's got a niggle so think Wgs will rest him.

I'm just thinking now. The games in Spain and players generally do get time on the ball so maybe having Naka in the middle would be a benefit. But if Villarreal are a team who can keep possetion for a long time it would probs be more beneficial to have Brown and Robson chasing and closing players down. Really hope Marc Crosas get's a game. It's in his country and will be more than likely right up for it!

 

i hope samaras, mcgeady, naka, wilson, caldwell and robson start anyway.

If we're playing McGeady and Maloney we need Jan to be on the end of the crosses. It's harsh dropping Sammy but Jan can get on the end of the other two's crosses and I'd expect Robson to make some runs in behind him.

I think that's got a lot of counter-attacking potential and a bit of solidity as well.Maybe it's a little bit too attacking though...

i think we should go 4-5-1 with samaras as lone striker and at the last 15 minutes go for a 4-3-3 bringing on mcdonald and VoH and then just go for it as we will need at least a point.

But he proberly just do a 4-5-1

 

Definitely 4-5-1 as our midfield (defensively) as a 4 don't seem to be able to protect the defence enough away from home in Europe. It's a shame as our 3 strikers are some of our best players in the team at the moment so 4-4-2 at some stage of the game or even 4-3-3 is a definite must.

Massive shame dropping JVoH or McDonald but the 4-5-1 is required tonight. Maybe Crosas in for Hartley although I think Hartleys experience protecting the back 4 might be vital.
