Just as a * Gaughan aside, anybody with a political stance should check him out. Not only that but he's a great muscian.

My fave songs, among others are Jeannie O' Bethelnie (or the live version Glenlogie - beautiful ballad and easy to learn to play), Revolution, Erin-go-Bràgh for those with a stance on the treatment of Irish and Highlanders in Lowland Scotland in the late 19th Century - the song's more about 'get a grip - a man's a man etc'.

All the games that people play.
    Pound a Week Rise

    great songs too.

This actuallly isn't off-topic because Handful of Earth was voted one of the top ten Folk Albums of all time. The man's also in favour of English Independence. Great guy. This seems to be his new website.

    * Gaughan's Welcome page

Honestly folks, if you've never heard of him, check him out. I'm sure Rosario would agree - (I suspect he might be a realtiv of the man himself..)

    Radiohead - Amnesiac

Most experimental album by my favourite band, will not mention OK Computer as it is too obvious.

    Antònia Font - Taxi

Best pop album i ever heard is this by an impressive alternative band from Majorca far away from mainstream standards. A wide variety of styles and great poetry just about daily life and love. Lyrics are in catalan.

Manu Chao & Radio Bemba - Radio Bemba Sound System

If you ask me "what is a good live album suposed to be?", i * don't know but a perfect live album would sound like this.

Negu Gorriak - Borreroak baditu milaka aurpegi

Negu Gorriak might be the best '90s basque rock band and this is clearly their best work. Mature, energical, mixes a lot of styles (it has rock, it has hip-hop, funk, salsa, reggaemuffin...) 'The executioner has a thousand faces' is for me the penultimate jewel of basque music.

    Placebo - selftitled

Placebo's first work means for me the mix of feelings of being young and naive. And it's energical. And i can listen to it over and over again. Don't need more reasons to post it.

Post Scriptum: you ask me tomorrow it probably won't be the same choice. Guess i'm not the only one though. Not posting things like Led Zep, Metallica, RATM or Pearl Jam cause they always appear in threads like this.
