a decent performance for an hour until we tired. Only beat by a free kick. We got beat by a better team but only just. A bog improvement on the total pumelling we are used to away.

    Best- Artur, Caldwell, Brown, Maloney.
    worst-Wilson, Mick, Naka
    rest were average

Brave formation but not enough players on top form and Villa Real were just a shade too good for us.

So, our aim now has to be the Uefa cup but I could live with that and a big run to the final maybe. We just have to make sure we bet Alborg away and we will be ok.

4-5-1 ruined us. It isn't a good formation to defend. and WGS shouldn't have played for a draw.

Although we lost, i'd say it's been one of our best away games for a while, yeah not too many chances but our passing was good at times. A few good chances, pity about Sammy's one. Also Skippy should've put that goal away.

Wall was stupid not to jump at that free kick.

Well done to Boruc, he had a lot of good saves, Caldwell played really well, Mick had some good blocks, Broon was on fire, but i think they should've had Skippt on a while before.

think Naka should have been hooked around 50 minutes. Probably stayed on for his CL free kicks.

I thought a few myths were put to bed tonight. Firstly the myth Naka should play centrally. He is far too weak for that. Naka plays on the right because he is too weak for the centre and is too slow to play as a left winger. Secondly that Aidan is better on the right. I used to think that too but not sure now. He was poor and just couldnt beat his man all night until he moved left.

I honestly did not see Brown on fire, I wish I did but now I kinda understand why he was randomly running into people to put it out.

the team dont pass the ball and move fast enough and they give it away (embarassingly) when they dont need to..theyv been doing it for ages. it smacks you in the face when your playing teams of this quality.

imo when naka goes back home in jan we will be better off,we aint such a good team we can afford to carry a player and hope for a free kick once in a while,in spl it aint so bad but in europe he really gets found out.......if we had better players all round we could have him on but in europe we really need workers/fighters....i,m not blaming naka for everything that happend but i do think he is a weak link.....atleast allborg got stiffed:87:

Yep although theres all this talk of 4-5-1 with Nakas free role we were essentially 4-4-2....

(With the luxury of hindsight) we should have stuck Robson in for Naka and put more faith in Maloney and McGeady getting space thanks to the extra man in midfield.

Wonder what everyone would be saying if Samaras tucked that away like he did from a similar position against Killie..... I bet they'd still be shouting about something

agree with you mate, but they dont do it at spl level so they arent gonnae suddenly play free quick one and two touch at CL level.
at times i thought they were keeping the ball pretty well but they do lose it too easilly when they shouldnt.
But we will need to train this way which im positive we dont do. then take it into spl games and then we will be able to do it cl games
