I am pretty sure Fifa and UEFA offcially banned ''The Billy Boys'' but other than that I am not sure if they have had any disciplinary action taken against them.

In 2006 Rangers were fined £9,000 by Uefa and "severely warned" about their fans' behaviour after the Villarreal team bus was attacked before a Champions League tie in Spain, but were found not guilty of charges of sectarian singing in both legs of the knockout stage tie. Last year the club avoided sanctions after fans were accused of making * salutes during a Uefa Cup tie against Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Israel.

Rangers explained that the salutes were derived from the Red Hand of Ulster motif on the flag of Northern Ireland and the matter was not pursued.

A few weeks later Uefa fined Rangers £8,280 after further outbreaks of sectarian singing in their Uefa Cup tie against Osasuna in Spain, but added that the comparatively modest sanction reflected the efforts made by the Ibrox administration to eradicate the problem.

i just feel the SFA/UEFA dont have the bottle to take action.Rangers have been warned and fined before about sectarian singing, yet they continue to do it and get away with it. i feel as if the SFA/UEFA have decided to accept they cant stop it so just let it happen.

im pretty sure if celtic got fined, then it would stop

The "orange" bloodline descends from royalty although like I said that particular "branch" has been diluted over the years. They have kept the royal bloodline "pure" through inbreeding and separation through class systems etc. And geography and sports teams have nothing to do with it.

Be careful what you wish for.

If the SFA were EVER to take action against the 'Establishment' team (Rangers), what do you think they would do the next time our own * tossers are heard singing IRA songs at away grounds?

You can bet your boots the punishment would be equal despite the scale of the problem being tenfold at Mordor.

I just think it wont matter how much action is taken against Rangers about sectarian songs they will still sing them, but as I said we need to get our fans to stop singing sectarian songs at away games before we can really get annoyed about Rangers getting away with it.

we are just so angry for yesterday... apart the result.... that famine song was really a shame... and don't think they sang it cos they were live on telly... they belt it out mainly because they identify us an "Irish" club because of our founders... what a shameful support they have...

Someone made a thread on that a while a go and it is quite simply pointless. For a start it just gives them fuel to report us for singing IRA songs and if they see it is affecting us than they will just want to sing it more.

Personally i think Brother Walfrid would be seriously * off at hearing Celtic fans singing songs which glorify the slaughter of women and kids. He was a man of faith, integrity and sincerity which is more than can be said for the idiots who sing songs glorifying the actions of a terrorist organisation. I'm still perplexed as to how anyone can find ANY association between the IRA and Celtic Football Club. I'd gladly listen to any reasoned argument of how the two can be affiliated to an extent where the singing of IRA songs at Celtic games is justified!

Bit of an off kilter rant for someone with the signature you have! Slightly hypocritical to be quoting a man such as Maley then having a go at others because they don't fit into your view of a what a Celtic Fan should be!

    I totally disagree.

Don't be sucked into this notion about the IRA being heroes fighting oppression.

Planting bombs that killed countless women and weans out shopping isn't something to sweep under the carpet. We shouldn't sing songs in support of the organisations that did it, full stop.

Makes those that do no better tan those that sing the famine song.
