    Oh my dear...

    --------------------

Burki went to Glasgow to talk with some celtic dudes, but refuses to give any information about that.

Personally I think he's just * and no near good enough for celtic

Today's Sun quotes their sporting director as saying:

"I think it is likely that Sandro will move to Glasgow. We expect the transfer to go ahead"

Another * centre mid? Is there a need? Take it that Donati will be returning to Italy then, if this is true...

I'm really shocked that Celtic is interesset of a player like Burki. Ok, Sandro actually do play for FC Aarau in the highest League in Switzerland and he do it very well now. But there, he have very good peoples around him and they look to him. He is very sensitively, and i think he will never be a good Player in a higher League in Europe.

Sandro was in the Swiss-Team that won the U-17 European Championship. Shortly after this succeess he sign a contract with Bayern Munich, but in this two years he have never play for the first Team, just for the Reserves. After that adventure his next Stations was Young Boys Berne, FC Wil, FC Vaduz and now FC Aarau. He had never made an impact somewhere. Now it look like he is happy in Aarau. Few months ago, i've read an Article about him, and there he say he would stay in Aarau for a long, long time because he is happy there.

Much talks, short result: He is a great Talent, like Evander Snow also one was/is......

Hope you can understand my hard english, sorry for that.

    Greets from Switzerland

    Greetings Trevor!

Many thanks for that information - your English is excellent, by the way. Doesn't sound too good for us at all then...unfulfilled talent thus far, it would appear.

Here in Switzerland are some reports from British-Media that the transfer from Burki is ok for January!

I'm not very delighted, but we will see and give him a chance..

No, he is not a left back and not a right back. A defense Midfielder - and i think we haven't got a Problem in this Position.....

Welcome Trevor , thanks for the info mate :50:

Found this on wiki ( and we all know how reliable that is )

The 23 year-old was a guest at Lennoxtown last week to see the Celtic set-up and discuss personal terms, and the Aarau Sporting director, Fritz Hachler, is confident that Burki will agree to the deal.
He said today: "I think it is likely that Sandro will move to Glasgow," he said. "He was in Scotland last week and we expect the transfer to go ahead." He also said he expected the deal to be completed in January.
He made his senior Switzerland international debut against Cyprus on 22 August 2008.

In September 2008 he was widely linked with a move to Scottish champions Celtic FC. It is believed Burki will move to Celtic in the January 2009 transfer window. Burki is previously on record as saying that his boyhood heroes were Andy Walker and Bertie Auld. He is also a keen musician and is good friends with Noel Gallagher of the English rock band Oasis.

According to what I heard on Radio Clyde this morning Celtic are not going to go ahead with the transfer as he didnt impress enough when he was on trial last week.

But I am not sure what to believe as Radio Clyde are'nt exactly reliable

BBC has this to say :

Aarau play down Burki Celtic link

Swiss club Aarau insist they have had no contract with Celtic after midfielder Sandro Burki was linked with a transfer to the Glasgow outfit.
A spokesman told BBC Sport that they were not aware that the 23-year-old had visited Scotland last week. It was reported that he was at Celtic's training ground and watched the draw with Aalborg in the Champions League. And the Swiss club's sporting director was quoted as saying that a transfer could be completed in January.
Fritz Hachler told Swiss newspapers: "I think it is likely that Sandro will move to Glasgow. He was in Scotland last week and we expect the transfer to go ahead."
But Burki is under contract until 2011 and a transfer fee would need to be agreed between the two clubs.
The defensive midfielder made his senior international debut for Switzerland in a World Cup qualifier against Cyprus last month.
Burki began his career with FC Zurich and spent a brief spell at Bayern Munich before returning home to Young Boys and then Aarau.
