Since I started this I suppose I should say something now.

The main institutions who detest Celtic most in Scotland are RFC and the media. I won't even start to go into why this is the case, but let's just all agree they do.

Ok I will. They're jealous of us. They're jealous of our fans, our strip, our global reputation, our success and our history. What's more important is that we're now breaking their stranglehold on Scotland. We've got better jobs than we ever had with more power to influence Scottish life, we've got schools that outperform theirs all the time, we have a stronger faith, are smarter, funnier and better looking. And they HATE it.

And here's an opportunity to really * in their chips.

We unite the Flags of Scotland and Ireland under the banner of Celtic Football Club. This is natural anyway, given Celtic's origins, and in doing so further isolate them in Scotland for what they are.

As long as the tricolour is protected and given equal status in the new Celtic Flag, no Celtic minded person would object. In fact, as can be seen from this poll many would welcome and celebrate the unity.

If you don't believe me ask Billy McNeill, or Martin O'Neill, or the McStay's, or anyone seriously connected to Celtic.

We are an Irish Club in Scotland. What could be better?

For what it's worth I prefer the one on the left, though I would like to see one with both flags side by side and the celtic crest in the middle

Those mixed flags look ugly imo, except for the green saltire (but it's already being used anyway)

From an artistic bent I cant see the St Andrews flag and the Tricolour working out too well, but would love to see a green St Andy with an Irish Harp say in the top triangle? Would get the point across I'm sure:celt_2:

    That is wrong

Current Positioning of Celtic Football Club

Celtic Football Club is a Scottish football club with proud Irish links. The primary business of Celtic is as a football club. It is run on a professional business basis with no political agenda. However, the Club has a wider role and the responsibility of being a major Scottish social institution promoting health, well-being and social integration. Quoted from the official Celtic site.

I am half irish myself but the fact of the matter is we are a scottish team.

Well, I think the fairest assessment of this unique union (which I first saw articulated in the documentary "Celtic and the Irish Connection") is that Celtic is an Irish club and a Scottish institution. I'm all for more Saltire's adding more color to Celtic park. CELTIC will always CELEBRATE its' Scottish and Irish identity, that which our founder clearly envisaged and our supporters continue to recognize. :50:
