It's called the Lion rampant. Technically, it's illegal to fly it in Scotland because it was used by Scottish rebels when uprising against England centuries ago. To stop the use of this flag, it was authorised to the Royla Family so it's technically illegal to have this flag in Scotland as it belongs to the royal family.

Aye, i would like to see more saltires together with tricolours.

 

Would any of our Irish fans have an objection to this? Or would you see it as a good idea?

the most unique thing is on any given day you will see random national flags.

see basque a lot (for obvious reasons), palestinian, catalonian, Japanese, polish, irish, scottish, varieties of irish flags, cuban, croatian, etc etc etc.

i challenge another club to have that kind of support.

 

I like it, but the problem I see with it is that it has no tricolour. What I'm getting at here is a bold statement by the Celtic support uniting the Saltire and tricolour.

For this to work, it would have to be a genuine 50/50 split. Maybe the top half the tricolour and the bottom half the saltire.

Can anyone sketch this in colour?

No, quite the opposite... Because it was the flag flown by our armies in the Rebellions and people in possession of this flag or wearing a kilt centuries ago could be killed as a means of punishment for carrying it by the English armies. So flying it shows defiance against the queen and Scottish pride.

To give a generalised answer, yes. Because the rule Britannia mob would rather wave a union jack and sing * save the queen and are among the biggest opposer's to Scottish independence etc. Although the non rule Britannia Huns who have Scottish pride are not bothered by it...

Think its just getting confusing. I say just a mix of both. Especially bring saltires to CL games as we are the champions and representing Scotland after all. I am biaised but I really think the Scottish saltire is the most beautiful of all the national flags. Sorry but the tricolour just is not a pretty flag - the old Irish green one with a harp was much nicer.

I wonder how that would look with all white outside of the crest in gold? I love the cross but I agree that there needs to be three colors.
