Celtic Scouts: Anybody know anything?

Googling hasn't brought up much in the way of enlightenment for me so far.
Does anybody know how extensive Celtic's scouting network is? It seems to have turned up a few interesting ones from abroad but how many actual scouts are there out there and where are they?

I know a lot of German clubs have hyperactive scouts scouring nearby Poland and Czech republic, cos it's nearby but Glasgow's not really nearby anywhere, unless you count Lanarkshire.

Does anybody know much about this?

 

My mum was telling me a Celtic scout worked in her office, not sure if he still works there.

 

He shouldn't be. He should be out their dib-dib-dib-dob-dob-dobing scouting.

 

I don't think they exist.

 

Our network better start bringing in some good quality stuff man, no more Adam Virgo pish some more spaniards, Brazillians or something

 

Brazilians??? * forbid! Well, we're in good terms with Barca...so, Spaniards might come...

 

we have a worldwide scout and i think what happens is they have contacts in different countries who tip them off when sumit worth looking at comes up

 

I know that one of the scouts we have was the guy who found Robben and Ruud Van Nistelrooy when they were youngsters.

 

If only we could sign young brazilians, shame most that we could afford wont get a work permit, its like that in quite alot of country's

But then again the 2 brazilians we have signed in the past have been just as bad as Virgo.

 

We have an American scout who tells us of young American talent like Guzan and Adu.He is the manager of Portland FC and good friends with Strachan, I know this cos I spoke to him on holiday.

 

Our scouting system is a bit secretive now. The scout who reccommended Sno has had his identity changed and is living in Europe somewhere.

The scout who suggested Virgo has been sectioned under the mental health act.

 

aye am talking about young decent Brazilians like the other teams bring in, no old pish at 30 odd that comes here for a pay off. Look at Ronaldo he was 18 or something and at Sporting Lisbon Man Utd got him and same wae that Nani

 

Scouts do their stuff and do it well (sometimes!) but I'm a fan of looking in our own backyard first and foremost. Didn't Caddis come up through our own youth system?

scouting is a free lance thing you have your main scouts who work for club then then there is scouts who work for a host of clubs and tell clubs about young players or player they have seen on there travels, they would tell clubs about a player then and prob get a fee is we sign them.

Most Brazillians will need a work permit mate, unless they have a eu passport.

As for Nani and Ronaldo, think even they where out of our price range when they came to ManUnited.

Then there is do they want to come to the Spl rather than go to places like England Spain Italy germany and even Russia who offer more in wages than we can afford.

Just look at guys like Modric, out of our league, there is still tallent out there especially in eastern Europe, we just have to get in before the big clubs take intrest.
