Matsui is a good player, but I think he makes a perfect example of why this article is a bit ridiculous. Matsui was a Bosman in the Summer... and specifically seeking European football.

Fujimoto has a lot of talent, but sadly very few caps. Okada settled on a midfield of [Matsui - Naka K. - Endo - Naka S.] and hasn't changed much except when Matsui and Shunsuke aren't involved.
One attacking midfielder who might have the caps is Yamase Koji. He typically fills in for Shunsuke and make substitute appearances, but lately Okada seems to have decided he doesn't like him anymore. So who knows.
Another is Komano, who splits time at RB and once or twice at RM as well. He's really a RM, but Japan uses him as a RB. Lately he also faces competition at RB from Uchida.

All I'll say for Sato, and I do like him and hope he continues his streak once Sanfreece gets promoted, but Kenny Miller could score 20 goals in the 2nd division of JLeague.
The highest Japanese goalscorer in J1 is Akamine... who I'm not even sure has ever been to a training camp with the NT.
The next highest is Tulio... who plays the large majority of his games as a CB, but scores headers at will from set pieces.
After that is Maki, who is also probably very close to having the caps. Ironically he is only called up when he's in terrible form and left out when he's in great form.

You can also take from all of this that if you think WGS has favorites and inexplicably freezes good players out... just be glad you're not stuck with this guy.

 

My impression was that was a one-off and Edu was the equalizer so the huns wouldn't cry * murder.
If there are more exceptions I don't know about then... there's tons of options.

 

this whole rumor is such bullshit.. started with a * journalist saying mizuno wants to leave because he didnt make the cl squad.. When he infact made the squad.

We should get an American. Altidore on loan would be great. He would score for fun in the SPL. Charlie Davies would too.

Bornstein, and no he's not good enough. The only American I would like to see realistically at the club would be Gooch, but he seems destined to want to go to a 5-10th place club in England. Altidore is not leaving Spain, and Davies, while intriguing, isn't as good as any of our strikers at the moment. He's very similar to Hutchinson, so that would be kind of redundant, plus he gets injured, plus he dives a lot.

I almost hope we don't get any Americans just so that we don't get an influx of BigSoccer users like the Fulham messageboard got when they had 5 playing for them.

I'd take Wynne, pearce, or either of the twin towers over the * we have in the back now. Altidore would be good but I doubt we have the money even if he were for sale. Adu would be a good signing especially for his age. Howard and Guzan would be good if Boruc ever leaves but they won't leave England.

Honestly I'd rate Davies over Hutchinson from what I've seen. Davies has been scoring quite a bit in Sweden and if he keeps it up he will probably be for sale soon.

Speaking of that I got banned from Bigsoccer after 2 days after being back. I called LD over rated in a thread where everyone was talking about his future at Arsenal/Bayern Munich/Real Madrid . Apparently that was trolling.

 

I read that thread, and since there was very real interest from Munich you actually were trolling... it seems there can never be a thread on the guy without "he is teh suxxors" comments. It's quite annoying really. Anyways, this isn't what this thread is for.

 

Zheng Zhi and Shao Jiayi would be good choices from China. Football in China is funny, seems like most fans idolize players like Beckham and Ronaldo and not their own national players.

 

Jiayi is a right midfielder, IIRC... What does Zheng Zhi play?

 

Zheng Zhi is centre midfielder and also a solid defender as well. China's most recognizable national player and captain. Don't know really if he is first team Celtic class but he would be a good addition to the squad, would open up the market more in Asia. He currently plays for Charlton, I've seen him play maybe 2 or 3 times and he holds the midfield very well.

Lol there was like 5 German guys bashing him throughout the thread. The whole thing had gone of topic with both sides arguing over whether he is good or not. No one was talking about the 1+ year old rumor linking him with Bayer. I made 1 comment giving my opinion that he wasn't going to be a super star at Bayern and got banned for trolling.

Hardly a "he is teh suxxors" comment. Also for someone that is obsesed with talking about how much bigsoccer sucks you sure do have an intricate knowledge of random threads in barried sub forums.

 

Random subthread? It has been at the top of the Yanks Abroad (one of the biggest areas) forum for a week, and deals with the best player on the USMNT, it's hardly random. And it's not 1+ year old... Goff broke the story like 2 weeks ago (I read Goff because I follow D.C. United). Just because I hate BigSoccer doesn't mean it isn't a decent place to go for some information on the US Nats, who I do in fact follow. I'm not going to post again on this subject because it's getting off topic, but if you are going to retort I'd suggest you say something which is actually... you know... based in fact.
