Newspaper reports indicate that English club Leeds United is closely monitoring Norwegian player of Tunisian origin, Sebastian Tonkti , with the aim of signing him in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The Tunisian player continues to impress with Scottish club Celtic, becoming one of the young stars making a difference this season since joining the team last summer from Swedish club Hammarby.

Tonkti delivered an outstanding performance on the attacking side, thanks to his great speed and his skills in dribbling and creating opportunities, which made him gain the trust of the technical staff and the club’s fans.

Would be interesting to see if this was true what kind of offer they would make. We paid a pretty large fee at 5.9m euro for him so would need to be a substantial profit on that at least 10m euro to even consider it I think.

 

I think we would ask for silly money or tell them to go away. In all likelihood if Maeda finds any form he will be off, I can’t see us selling Tounekti in January.

I would say your probably right. I would expect Maeda to be away and the only way Tounekti is sold as well is if we are offered a substantial profit on the 5.9m euro we paid for him.

Yes I would be very surprised if he was sold in January. Would be surprised if he was even sold in the summer really. Only way it happens is if we are offered something like 10m euro or above.

Selling players to Leeds would add to the banter that the Huns parents love us more than them.

We fleece them for a massive transfer and the Huns get dregs

His numbers are pitiful, if he can improve on that side of the game then fair enough, but so far all Ive seen is a couple of goals, good attacking running and dribbling and absolute rank rotten crossing nearly 100% of every single ball.

He is only young though so hopefully that might improve.

 

The Swedish league ends in December so is classed as a summer league and therefore it won’t count that he played for Hammarby.

 

Not sure why Leeds would be interested. Unless they were after him previously.

It’s not like he’s come here and torn it up.

 

Sounds like the Leeds/Hun owners are trying to put one of our best players off their game with this story...
