Of the names seriously linked, McKenna and Hayen are the most interesting. I'd be happy with either of them.

The rest of the names...not so much.

As I said, winning alone isn’t enough at Celtic. If we performed like that at home to a third division side, there would be riots, regardless of the result.

Yep he is a top class manager. Would have no problem giving him at least untill the summer. Which i think is the plan if the next few results is positive

It's enough. No matter who wins and with what style, he will be tolerated, at least. As soon as a bad run of form happens, critics will come. Style is secondary.

Elvis and Clarke- If that is the club or supporter ambition, I will never board a plane or ferry again.

But hopefully the rumour about Susan Whalen is true and she will be the one to choose the new manager, in her I will put my faith.

In first moths as CEO, restructured Leicester, top to bottom, Sacked Pearson, recruited and backed Ranieri, when many called for her/his head and never looked back.

She is Irish, knows the history, Powerful accomplished business woman, knows football, unlike a certain other piece of *, who steals a million a year from each and every one of us and what should be “The Golden Decades” for us, Now all we are is a club in revolt and dismay.

So, I see no manager for at least 6/8 weeks, if rumours are true that is?.

Yeah it is enough, but what happens when we don't win. I think people can tolerate a few bad results if we are entertaining. Nobody wins forever.

Playing the man not the ball again. Going for the hyperbole and missing the point. Marco Rose the only qualified name per last post.

    You are trolling.

If I have to repeat myself. Nancy has won the MLS and the League Cup. Won manager of the year. Building an excellent reputation for himself and his style of football. As MLS fans go, Columbus are among the most demanding due to recent success.

Is this enough to be Celtic manager? Probably not.

Is this more than Pressley has done and warrants a move to Europe? 100%. No question ffs :giggle1:

McKenna is a Celtic fan so instantly he understands the pressure. He could have probably managed us when he left Man United, he comes with that much praise. It’s universally known how good a coach he is. Instead he took Ipswich to back to back promotions and right now he’s a few points off the playoffs. He’s more than good enough.

Saying “Marco Rose” isn’t enough. Why is he qualified? I wouldn’t be overly excited if he got it.

Hayen is qualified. Knutsen too. No less than Rose is.

Twice you’ve said “Low IQ” now. It screams keyboard warrior. Liam Gallagher posters all over your Mums spare room.

Willifred Nancy is an interesting one ...left field as you can go. Not sure of his credentials though

Brendan Rodgers won 5 1 in the Champions League last year but his football still ended up boring. Steve Clarke's style or lack of wouldn't suit Celtic regardless of his success with Scotland they are largely a chore to watch as we have been all season as well

Extremely harsh to expect Scotland to be playing free flowing, exciting football every match, especially when Clarke only gets two week stretches every few months to work with the squad, he's severely restricted in his coaching time, working with a bunch of players from a whole host of different clubs who are used to a variety of different systems, not to mention the fact he doesn't even have a reliable striker, his hands are tied at Scotland to an extent, only so much can be done, tbf to Clarke though he did come out after the game and say that performance is the most disappointed he's been in all his Scotland tenure, he did acknowledge it.

Regardless, your main target as National team manager is to get results and qualify for tournaments, Clarke is doing that
Very harsh to lump Clarke and Pressleys name together, Clarke is 100x the manager

No it is low IQ from the Officer particularly with the inability to see the Brendan Brendan Brendan hoax happening in front of the eyes.

Oh so being a Celtic fan equates with understanding the pressure to manage the team. That qualifies me, you and the forum. We should have a collective shout at the gig. When do we submit the application?

There is WINNING mentality and TROPHY MENTALITY. Some don’t have that. McKenna no demonstration. Similarities to R Martin. Hey R Martin PLAYED for Rangers so he should know the pressure too…

Elvis is one of the best young coaches in Scotland. He knows how to WIN. He also has a head of hair unrivalled by anyone in Scotland. The new Hun manager has roadkill on the top of his head!

More of a Noel fan myself. What’s with the bitterness to Liam photos and a family home?

    C’mon you know.

Said countless times that you can't really judge Scotland performances fairly given the fact Clarke has very little coaching time, two weeks every few months with a squad is nowhere near enough time to implement a style of play, especially with a group of players from different clubs who are used to different systems, it's all about getting results by any means possible as national manager to qualify for tournaments and Clarke does that.

Players stopped playing for Brendan, that's the difference, it's a usual trend with players under Brendan, after two seasons players get bored, give up and go through the motions under him, whereas Clarke has longevity as a manager, Scotland players are still playing for him 6 years on, that's a major skill set in itself to have because with many other managers players tend to get bored and chuck it after a couple years, that's part of another reason I would want Clarke, he would potentially stay here as long as MON did, whereas other up and coming managers would probably stay here two seasons at most then run off.

Viewing experience aside, Clarke took over Scotland at a time when almost half of Europe gets to qualify for the Euros. And its fair to say Scotland's squad is probably a top half of Europe squad. Hes done what it is probably fair to expect him to do. At the Euros hes probably performed in line with expectations. That doesnt feel enough to want him as a celtic manager.

And his football is turgid. Sure, he may loosen up with better players in a big club, but that is unproven. I think Celtic can do better

Never said dominate every single game. Clarke doesn’t dominate any games.

He doesn’t get 3 points in most games either, that’s a lie. His win percentage is like 44%, which is actually less than Strachan. He’s done well to get us to two tournaments and on the verge of a WC. But many Scotland fans still want a change because they feel like he’s wasting a squad full of talent, the best in years.

You’re actually proving my point by stating how different International coaching is to Club management btw. Chalk and cheese. He’d be a disaster here. Scotland suits him, purely coaching and a rigid structure.
