    Could make an argument Ronny D was great for the club, brought through Tierney & McGregor, gave Rogic a proper chance, signed Armstrong, Ajer and arguably Dembele. The job was definitely too big for him, but he put in place the foundations of Rodgers success.

    67 Hail Hail understands that Celtic have been long-term admirers of Lee Carsley.

    The Hoops are looking for a new manager afterBrendan Rodgers quit earlier in the week, with several names linked early doors.




    A return to Celtic for Ange Postecoglou has been ruled out whereas Columbus Crew boss Wilfried Nancy refused to comment on the links.

    Other names include Kieran McKenna, Robbie Keane and Craig Bellamy, but it seems that Carsley could also be in contention.


    According to Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey, Celtic could consider the possibility of appointing Carsley.

    Bailey stated that Celtic have been impressed with Carsley’s work as England U21s manager, as well as his brief stint in charge of the senior national team.


    Under his watch, the former Republic of Ireland international has won two European U21 Championships and helped to develop the likes of Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke.


    67 Hail Hail understands that Carsley isn’t a frontrunner for the job, but someone that is under consideration.

    You want boring when we play bigger European teams, though. Domestically, he needs to tell the players to play it simple, and shoot whenever the chance is decent, as opposed to waiting for everything to be perfect. Basically, what MON told the team when he came.

    Mind you, the SFA aren't letting him go.

    Knutsen contract ends on 31st December. Would go all out for him & keep MON as interim. Nicky Hayen would be my first choice but seems very unlikely. We need someone like them with pedigree not a project manager. Marco Rose wouldn't be too bad of a shout either.
