Does it matter who we bring in if the structure is the same? There's a glass ceiling at Celtic, there is only so far any manager can take us with our board and shambolic transfer policy and dealings. Unless we change how we operate we could bring in a team of Pep, Klopp and Ancelotti and the league title and a half decent run in the CL is your lot and the board will be happy once we make a few quid..

So for me im not expecting any massive name or ambitious appointment..

Yeah me glass is half * empty:67:

Interesting. The stuff they played against the huns was exceptional but suppose they are also a basket case.

Fact every so often we suddenly compete in the champions league, means were doing something correct. However soon as we compete, half the teams away and we've to restart and not compete for another 3/4 years of player developing. We either need to pay more to attract other players of higher calibre to begin with, and enjoy 2 years of them, or offer great sign on fees to stay.

People also need to accept the champions league is far beyond us now. Money has destroyed the competition. Here's us shouting "we've turned over £150m a record!!" Yet half the teams in it are buying a single player at that value.

Its a * they've taken away the drop down to the europa. That was imo my hope for the champions league.

I was a bit against McKenna at first as i don't know to much about him but after listening to a fair amount of interviews he does seem like a very smart guy.

Not sure that is enough though lol

If we got our act in gear as a club we could attract an ambitious manager and build a decent team that could compete fairly well in the Champions League. We were doing that with Brendan Rodgers. We’ll see what happens with the board and if the change of personnel and modernisation that is required will happen. There has been no sign of anything like that happening yet so until we start hearing about it and we see Lawwell and his cronies departing your glass half empty mood is understandable. It could become glass half full quite quickly if Lawwell and co. announce their departure at the upcoming AGM. That would be a start and a reason to start feeling more optimistic.

I don’t know much about anyone we’re linked with but throwing in my two cents anyway..

Knutsen is a bit of a risk because he’s only been at small clubs and he’s chosen to stay there. He might just be super well suited to the challenge and lifestyle at Bodo/Glimt. Celtic is a different beast. He’s 57 and never agitated for a move.. I don’t think we should be a late career ‘try something new before I retire’ for someone like him.

The Brugge manage I’m not keen on. It feels more like he’s rode the wave of Brugge’s success than driven it. I think it wouldn’t go well here.

A lot of Bodo players struggle when they move because it's such a tight nit family vibe there. I agree that Knutsen might struggle but he would be top of my list of everyone we have been linked with.

Whilst true, the whole point of these recent protests etc is so we do see a change in how we operate.

We simply can't continue to go along this way. It'll bite us on the * continually.

The whole new manager appointment and feel good factor that MAY inevitably come as a result, can't distract us from the bigger picture.

He was also thrown to the wolves in terms of recruitment. Had us scouting Haaland and we got Carlton Cole.

    Yep.

Desmond will pass on his usual instructions

    "Just this first window"

The first window for a new manager is always business AS IT SHOULD BE DONE.
Then its revert to type. Frustrate the * out of the manager and the fans.

Desmond CANNOT be allowed to remain at this club, at least not wielding the influence he apparently does.
Hes a * millstone around our neck, and he isn't even the * majority shareholder.
He has no majority. Hes our largest single shareholder. And he dictates policy, recruitment, and operations like hes the * Emperor of Celtic.

Its pretty obvious the other BoD's are beholden to him. Either through being graced by their presence on the board in the first place, or by proxy investment in their other businesses.

So they all have to fall together.

One by * one if thats what it takes. We need all out war against these *. Theyll never, ever stop holding us back. No matter the promises, no matter what new strategies and micky mouse concessions they make.

also wasnt meant to be as manager the season he did , im sure he was to come in to replace Mjalby as assistant to lennon the view to taking over a year later ,

but as you said he recommended haaalan as well as odergaard before the big teams came sniffing. The fact that rangers where at the bottom of the leagues the board seen it as an opportunity to downsize the caliber of player while trying to get the best Scottish talent and giving them a go as well as foreign projects.

deila was also good for a couple of seasons in Norway where as knutsen has done it for 7 years , big difference there

McKenna would be a massively better option than Carsley, and I'm not that fussed about McKenna
