Yes I know, but what I'm saying is the markets Hearts and USG shop in are totally different. USG and Brugge won't be too dissimilar despite spend.

Same for me. Its clear as day IMHO that the structure we have is not fit for purpose. Its clear as day for me IMHO that we need freshness in the boardroom and in ownership. That we need people to come in with new ideas and actual real plans on how to take Celtic forward on and off the park and unfortunately there is zero doubt for me that the current board with Lawwell, Nicholson, McKay etc and Desmond in ownership are not only not fit for purpose they have now shown themselves to be capable of damaging us as a club even to the extent of deliberate sabotage of the team and club as the hit piece on the clubs web site and the hit piece in the paper exemplified. These people who claim to be Celtic supporters have shown when it comes right down to it what really matters to them is their positions and power over the club not whats best for the club because if they truly cared about Celtic they would recognize that their time is over and that we need new blood on the board and in ownership for Celtic to develop and fulfill what IMHO is a very considerable potential as a club.

From a distance you are right. It could appear that way. However Club had a small squad last season. Just like us, they failed to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer market.
They lost above average points in games right after they played in Europe. At the end of the season they had a squad with high fatigue. Mainly due to the extended European run…

this season also from the 10-points dropped: 5 were before or after Champions lg qualifiers, where he didnt field the best team, since they wanted to be in the champions lg really badly.

However, Union is just sensational in the way season after season they seem to sell half their squad and still manage to get a good team. But you can make the same case for Brugge they sold for 80-odd mil€ and bought for 40-odd mil€. He had to rebuild as well.

And his football is way more attractive then what Union does, Union play more from defensive system, while Brugge? We seen how they put pressure on us and how they dismantled the huns.

Hayen would be an amazing catch for us.

Someone with a presence, a bit of fear factor, an aura, someone that walks into the dressing room and has the players transforming into mice in an instant, players being full of respect, players minds shifting simultaneously between being terrified of disappointing the manager to a fear of sadness that will be felt in letting the manager down, two emotions (fear and sadness) the players will do everything to avoid game to game, to the point players will always be running through brick walls for the manager

Someone that will attack domestically at will whilst also not being stupid enough to play against Real Madrid the same way as against Falkirk, someone who will be pragmatic in Europe in order to get results, that's who I'd like to see get the job, that type of manager

If they were then replaced with people outside of desmonds phone book and with input from the manager and DoF then aye. And a fan groups set up to liaise with the board in such appointments so anyone in has a clear remit.

I'm not sure a DoF role is for MON though. Think we'd need someone with solid knowledge of the modern analytical side of things etc. Which he's openly said he hasn't much interest in. I'd imagine he wants to spend his final years actually managing.

I can’t see this one , I think this will be a dermot appointment so I’m expecting someone who’s a bit of a coup , knutsen and Hayen are well thought after in the game and I think either of these two would be a statement signing , DD might also see McKenna as that also but I’d be against McKenna ,

I can’t see it being someone from mls that’s not really a known name

Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna says he has had "no conversations" with Celtic about their managerial vacancy, while Wales head coach Craig Bellamy is committed to seeing out his team's World Cup campaign.

Both have been linked with the manager's job with the Scottish champions following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on Monday.

McKenna described Celtic as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old took charge of Ipswich in 2021 and led them to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, but they won just four games last season as they were relegated back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in England's second tier.

"I have not had any of those conversations," the London-born former Northern Ireland youth international said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my concentration is this week.

"I have a special job here at a special club. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't touched my radar.

It has been suggested that McKenna would be open to speaking to Celtic given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about those. "I don't think everyone has to go around and announce what they were, but of course it's a really big football club."

McKenna signed a new four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he replied. "I don't know what mine are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I approach this job like I'll be Ipswich manager forever. I know that's not always going to be the case, but I'll always do my best as long as I am here."

Bellamy played for Celtic on loan from Newcastle United in 2005, but the former Wales striker is minded to complete the current World Cup campaign, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

Wales are currently third in their qualifying group behind leaders Belgium and second-placed North Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and North Macedonia in November would book their place in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but assured of making those, thanks to a successful Nations League campaign, even if they fail to finish as Group J runners-up.

Given his current stance, Bellamy, whose contract expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until after the play-offs at the earliest.

Holding off to see if MON and Maloney can get a win Sunday. If they do they’ll get the gig. Heard it here first :56:

Actually no clue who will get it tbh.

It wont be MON/Maloney full time, and they obviously wont give it to Brown or Lennon.

My fear with this Hayen is that he just might be a product of everything that's going well at Brugges much like managers at Brighton and Brentford often look better than they are with the leg up from the analytics.

It definitely won't be O'Niel and Maloney full time, but what they have done is bought us time. If by some miracle Knutsen is interested but not till December we can wait, or if we need to sort out compensation for McKenna. They've made it so we don't need to rush the appointment, which is invaluable.

Long term I know Maloney was previously heavily rated for his networking and use of data (especially at Belgium) I wonder if he'd move upstairs in a more technical role. Personally I think we need someone young and connected with football to operate as a technical director, but not a former manager who will overshadow whoever gets the managerial job
