Just goes to show if you play tactics that suit the players you have and play the players in there most comfortable positions then you reap the benefits.

Kasper - keeps it simple tonight not very many risky passes and quicker at distribution , under rodgers I felt as though he would hold onto it a bit longer to draw teams out but in turn putting the out ball under pressure

Ralston - again keeps it simple , asked the be a full back and nothing fancy, under rodgers was expected to get in and help midfield but is technically not very good

trusty and scales - quicker distribution nothing fancy less passing between each other very rarely would it go back to where it came from unlike with Rodger’s it would be about 15 passes between goals keeper and defence

sarachhi - very good display , shows what having someone who his fit can do very eager to get forward and support and crossing and tackling on point, very rarely went back the way

Engels and McGregor - again very rarely went back the way , McGregor looked more comfortable with Engels beside him , Engels is better when he can see more of the park in front of him as seen with Kenny’s through ball , Engels also covering the fullbacks which is great , under rodgers McGregor would be playing 15 yards further back and by the times he’s got the ball the opposition are back in position reducing space

forrest tounekti - more direct and running towards the opposition , one massive change was how little the wingers passed the ball backwards, they didn’t look scared to lose possession , under rodgers the wingers would cut back more and slow the play down and pass back

nygren - he’s gonna frustrate by the chances he misses but there might just be a player there , always takes up good positions and playing on the left side opens up so much more opportunity for him.

Kenny - still looks raw when running with the ball but takes his chances , Rodger’s playing slow possession football hinders players like Kenny as they feed from balls into the box but Rodger’s would try work the ball in and around the box with short one touch football which in all honesty your aswell having no striker , that’s why Kyogo struggled under rodgers

even the subs looked more lively and the game didn’t slow or change , everyone knew there role and mccowan , balikwisha and osmand looked decent

good start and shows that there might be players there for a new manager to work as long as the system suits the players that are playing.

    Far better.

Rodgers must have been in the house in tears thinking "how are they winning 4-0 without passing it about the back all the time".

So we all In Agreement that the cl exit is because Rodgers didn’t want to change tactics to suit rather than the board not investing ?

Was surprised at how aggressive we were. But then again it wouldn't surprise me if O'Neill was asking them to be. Allowing players to play their game made a difference too.

Both fullbacks were also cutting into mf when we were out of possession to win the ball. MON obviously identified how teams were continually running through our mf before.

It’s an improvement for sure and it felt like I was watching Celtic again, but I’m not going to get overexcited just yet. We’ll need to see how Sunday goes and then we have the small matter of how the new manager will do.
