I could easily say to you the media were right about Balikwisha, and we were tracking him for a long, long time.

I can also tell you categorically we have been tracking Hayen for a long, long time.

The only question is, is he open to leave Club Brugge to take up the challenge of rebuilding Celtic FC, and making us a force again in the Champions League ?.

We don't know the answer to that yet, and we will ask him.

 

Unless we wait until after this International Break.. when their fate will be decided. They have 2 winnable games tho.

Can't be * with Keane as it'll be another divisive appointment amongst the fanbase when what we desperately need is someone to come in that we can all get behind. Ange would be perfect but that's a non-starter.

We're gonna be taking a gamble on whoever it is, and out of the names that we (realistically) would go for, I'd rather McKenna or Bellamy as they fit the mould of an up and coming manager who could make the next step. People raving about Bellamy's enthusiasm for the Wales job and giving the players masive belief in themselves - sounds like the sort of energy we need in the place. McKenna getting back to back promotions with Ipswich is a big achievement. Reservations that he seems to have flatlined a bit a la Rodgers but maybe the right time for both parties to try something new.

 

Nicky Hayden would be a fantastic appointment... Which is why it wont happen.

The very nature of Celtic, as dictated by that * roaster Desmond (* knows why), is for fans to be living in a permanent state of excited anticipation... Only to be spectacularly let down.

Transfer windows are the same; players A and B linked with us for months, fans ready to get their names printed on shirts.... Boom. Some mucklord.

Im in my 40's. Ive been truly excited by the possibility of about 30 different Celtic managers my entire life, only two of them actually came to pass at the time. MoN and BR (first time).

Im not even bothering to get my hopes up with this board of cowards and that * monster Desmond.

Hayen has been very good in a short space of time but think it would be a risk similar to McKenna, they only have a few seasons under their belt as managers at a high level.

Experience and dealing with the pressure managing us comes with are the 2 biggest obstacles we face in bringing in any young manager.

Whoever the new manager is going to be they will get shafted.

BR was keeping tabs of players he lost and what he needed to bring in to replace them. A new manager is starting a fresh and guaranteed he won't be after what BR was needing to bring the squad back to what's needed.
