He probably wasn't going to get backed in Jan, as he was never going to renew. He may have been told he won't be allowed to pick the transfer targets..

Be good to see more inventiveness coming from our right side, even if it's not as strong as it should be, it should be better than ball to wing, winger turns and passes it back every time

Why do folk seem hellbent on taking sides in all this ?

Is it so hard to admit that both are at fault ?

The board absolutely * him over in the transfer window. No matter if he was leaving or not they should still have gave him the tools to push us on for another season.

But, Brendan Rodgers 100% did not give his all in the time since then and looks like he's accepted that and decided to walk before fans started turning on him in numbers.

The club needs gutted from top to bottom. Hopefully the few changes we've seen so far are the start of it, but I wouldn't count on it.

Nothing wrong with a reliable Civic if your ambition is to venture no where outside of your local backwater Honda.

If that’s all Celtic wants then why do we need 80 million in bank, why do we need Lawwell and co. costing the club millions annually in admin fees doing nothing until the billionaire absentee landlord turns up every now and then to berate them before fooking off back to the golf club. We don’t need a 60000 seater stadium, we don’t 50 odd thousand st holders and a waiting list of thousands for them.

Celtic FC is at a crossroads. It needs to make up its mind. If it wants to be a Honda Civic then downsize the club, including the boardroom and everything else. However if it wants to attempt to reach its true potential then get rid of Lawwell and co. and tell them to take the Honda Civic mentality with them.

 

He should have used a Focus or Corsa or something ... bonkers using one of the most reliable cars ever to prove his point.

 

On each side, you've got those who are incapable of criticising Rodgers, and those who are incapable of seeing him as anything other than a snake.

Ultimately, Rodgers and the board have let the club (mainly the fans) down this year, barring the Bayern tie which has been the only highlight.

exactly. My favourite car ever. Even after a woman ploughed into the front of it, dripping coolant everywhere, aircon smashed to bits and other engine bits it still drove home fine. Some car. He doesnt even have the knowledge on reliable cars. All flash and no substance. No wonder he failed in the end.

There’s a lot of truth when it comes to Leicester and us though. It isn’t based on nothing. Leicester absolutely were downsizing and the squad they had the year they went down was pish by EPL standards. I’d say pretty much all the Celtic fans would agree that we made an * for eh summer window in his last year first time round, topped off with the McGinn debacle. Then this summer, well that just outdone all others. It was a shambles and the squad we have been left with, especially in the attacking part of the pitch is an absolute disgrace.

 

I'm delighted he's gone. Rodgers is a toxic individual and his best days are way behind him. The board and Desmond also being toxic doesn't change that.

He leaves every club in virtually identical circumstances. The dwindling performances, low morale, boring football. The same patterns, behaviours, claims and accusations. It's genuinely baffling how Rodgers comes away from this in a positive light for some.

Thanks for restoring a bit of pride in Europe last season Brendan, but you or your football won't be missed at all. Not by me anyway.
