He was clear on his interview with talks port it was only going to be a short thing.
He said the board would be looking at a young manager...

At least he won't be on a Spanish golf course when everything is going to *.

For those too young to remember, I'm talking about the cup game against Caley Thistle, when Barnes lost control of the dressing room and Dalgliesh was playing golf in Spain.

Late kick off tomorrow. You think he'll be able to stay awake for it?

Sure we can joke but jokes aside MON is a true elite manager. A absolute legend of a man. You don't lose that, especially not a man-manager like him.

Maloney will be doing the leg work here.

Even in his pomp, MON relied on Robertson and Walford for training.

This should be interesting. See what we can take from it.

I'm hoping for a hint of formation change, and some isolated players being brought back into the fold.

I just think people are getting too hung up on the interim appointment.

We have a game on Wednesday - who was meant to take the team? One guy on ACSOM seems to want a full recruitment process for the interim for Wednesday night.

I'm not trying to defend anyone but the criticism scatter-gun is what let's the actual issues lose focus.

I mean who the * else was meant to take the team for Wednesday?

It seems to me they will get a permanent appointment in ASAP, I think the international window at the latest.

The one thing O'Neill always seemed to have was the ability to lift players and run through walls for him. Hopefully can do the same in the short term. Maloney is apparently quite tactically astute which O'Neill never really was so might actually be okay short term.

Not looking forward to this combo at all. Would hate anything to diminish MON record with us. Really hope this is the shortest interim period.

Something tells me MON is only here for the Falkirk and Huns game.

I can get why people see their names and think it typifies many of our problems as a club; but as an interim appointment, and hopefully a short one at that, I don’t think it’s anything to get too worked up about.

O’Neill seems to be cognisant of the fact that he’s not really a long-term option and Maloney, while a poor manager whose name shouldn’t be anywhere near the shortlist on a permanent basis, was fairly well regarded as a coach and is probably just there due to his familiarly with the squad.
