There is no truth in Desmond’s statement. Complete lies and bullshit. We need a new board of management and he needs to * off back to the golf course and let that new board of management go to work.

I guess the big narrative around this squad being good enough but Rodgers not getting the best out of them is going to be answered definitively now as well. If the interim team lose to Rangers on Sunday and struggle for wins in the league ahead of a new manager coming in (That's if we actually attempt to get a manager in and this isn't a board smokescreen to engineer Maloney in there) then it makes it really hard to defend the squad quality.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all regarding what's required at boardroom level..if the rumours are true regarding CEO and chairman is a positive first step.

If your superiors at work treated you like * would you want to stay in that environment? You had someone above him going to the press leaking stories and nothing was done about it. He was left with no right winger to replace Kuhn and no striker basically. The board took it for granted he was staying the 3 years so decided to try and take the * put him by not backing. He was well within his right to resign. Now hopefully he talks and we can find out exactly how much a shambles we really are behind the scenes.

It wasn’t one game to get us to the Bayern game though was it?

I think Rangers will still be favourites for the game on Sunday. New manager bounce and they are starting to believe again, and we have found it very hard to beat them under Rodgers.

Very hard for O'Neil and Maloney to turn this ship around in such a short period of time, and with a depleted squad, but you never know, it's a Derby game, winner takes all, anything could happen.

I wouldn't be too upset if we lose the League Cup, as long as we show form in hunting down Hearts in the League, and still have the Scottish Cup and Europa to keep the interest going.

Rodgers said a lot of things but I believed him when this summer he said he wanted Celtic to be the best it could be. You can call him what you like now that he’s gone but I still believed him when he said that because this is the same manager that built a team capable of being able to compete with a team like Bayern Munich in a Champions League knockout stage tie.

Lawwell and co. and their vendetta against him clearly held a grudge and didn’t want him getting the credit for it and were willing to sabotage the team to win their * contest against him. They got what they wanted. They can * off now and let some professional people take over the running of the club.

When the dust settles on Brendan Rodgers departure they better be getting the * out of that boardroom and get some professional people taking over.

I agree. I don't hold any hope of beating Rangers on Sunday, nor do I think its realistic to expect MON and Maloney to do so. Agreed regarding the league. As long as we can pick up some points and try and stay with touching distance of Hearts I'd be content enough given the circumstances.

My respect for him has been restored with him walking. If he had clung on any longer, things would have been beyond repair.

    Good luck to him.

I'd love to know what's actually happened on Monday. With so many resigning, it feels like it's been a proper argument. I can imagine Desmond has tried to have a go at the management team and the fitness guys as if it's all their fault and they've just been like, "* this" and agreed to all resign at the same time.

You can imagine Rodgers arguing back that he didn't want the likes of JSP and Shin and that's what's prompted Desmond to make his statement.

This is a key point for me. This season is salvageable at this stage.

That's it. We were at the very point of no return.

We got to hope Hearts will start dropping points, starting with Paisley. No doubt Rangers wil be thinking the same,
and will start hunting down Hearts too, then there is Hibs too, not out of the equation.

This could all end up very confusing for Derek McInnes and Hearts.

What are you talking about? He wanted new players this summer to build on last season. He wanted proper movement in the transfer market, quality players coming in so that Maeda and others could leave. Scales has probably been the best player at the club this season. Idah, Trusty and Engels all contributed last season. The Lawwell influenced board decided to stop cooperating with the manager because of their axe to grind. They should have sacked him at the end of last season if that’s what they wanted but no they proceeded to make an * of it. They must go now as well.

The future for Celtic FC as a modern European football club could be very bright but not as long as Lawwell and co. are hanging around.

He still has a part to play in doing what’s best for the club. When he said he wanted for Celtic to be the very best it can be as a club I believed him and still do and the success he has had (especially a very good run in the CL last season that should have been built on not dismantled) is proof of that.

If the Lawwell influenced board don’t step aside and Desmond doesn’t allow professional people to come in and run the club properly Brendan Rodgers and his insight will be invaluable if needed. Lawwell and co. and their bullshit must go. And Neil Lennon can * off as well the slabbering *.

It was a decent achievement while the team in that Rodgers cycle was at the peak of their powers yes.. still for every Leipzig and Atalanta, there was Zagreb, bern and brugge.. not trying to rubbish the achievement I just think it should be held in some context considering what's gone on the last 2.5 years

Id say lennon genuinely knew this was coming and was advertising himself again. When you consider that board fluff piece he did the sun. Hes prob still in with lawell.

Fortunately theres a few non board lackeys like sutton on mainstream media that will challenge the clubs position.

That * boyd will be doing our boards work on sky you can bet.

I'm thinking that statement from DD says more about him than it does about Rodgers, it's an extraordinary attack deliberately made public, no doubt the truth will come out.

Drawing away in the CL and at home to a very good Brugge team isn’t a bad thing. Why are you making them out like they were disasters?
