It’s not just for one match. Will be significant time enough. Why would they even bring O’Neil back for that? Just put Maloneu in charge for Wednesday and make it clear that the process is well underway.

 

That was my first fear to be honest. When I saw the headline I put 2+2 together with that Sutton interview.

It's possible NL knew at that point Rodgers was on his way out and wanted to earn a few more brownie points.

 

If they announced Maloney as interim then toxicity would go through the roof because we’d all be anticipating a repeat of the Lennon debacle. Bringing O’Neill in suggests that won’t happen (although obviously it still could) It’s also possible Maloney didn’t want the role, but was happy to do the legwork for O’Neill if O’Neill takes the managerial side of things.

My feeling is MON wouldn’t be willing to take the job if it was going to be a long process. That’s a helluva lot of travelling and work for a man of his age.

My theory is they’ve already spoken to Ange’s agent prior to this, so they’ve phoned O’Neill and told him they think they’ll have Ange in pretty quick if they can do them a favour for a week.

But that’s just my theory.

These board members are LOW IQ. They should be taking an IQ test before they spend another day at the club. Crooked and not smart.
