If Rodgers sets up using 4-3-3, he's setting us up for a defeat.

 

For me, obviously the midfield isnt working but the whole idea is to work it wide quickly for a winger 1v1 or combinations between the full back, winger and number 8 and which ends with a cutback or shot from the edge of the area.

So it hasn’t mattered who is playing in midfield, the wingers have not been good enough. Ball goes back every time and when it does come across, KI has poor movement, wide men and midfield don’t attack the box to score

 

And once again....
Overrun and out fought in 2nd half v average Hearts midfield.

 

Needed help for sure today, but thats on Rodgers for persisting with his * 4-3-3. Hatate is a waste of space currently.

He's been living off the back of that 3-0 win over Rangers at Parkhead, what three or four years ago ?

The lazy * needs fired out a rocket to the Moon, along with that fucken blue gumshield of his.

 

I think he's tried every possible formation of a three man midfield and none of them look good

I'm thinking we need 4 central midfielders now

Maybe a diamond would work With nygren or hatate top of the diamond

Bernardo must be absolutely scunnered sitting watching that week after week.

 

Bernardo gets better the less he plays. He comes in on the odd occasion is no better than anyone else gets criticised then the cycle starts again

 

I think the midfield has been much better the last 2 games since Arne came in. As many predicted it’s helped McGregor a lot which helps the team.

Hatate is the next piece of the puzzle for me. He’s got Bernardo and McCowan that should both be getting the nod first right now, not least because they’ll run more these days.

Also it’s overlooked a lot but Bernardo can get forward and contribute too when asked.

Hearts beat us because Murray sold the jersey 3 times. Apart from that, there has been progress and we shouldn’t be ripping it all up because of one CB gifting 3 goals.

 

I like the positivity. Im normal circumstances, 1 cb wont cause 3 goals. Get trusty on. A £6m international cb instead of some shaky youth project and we minimum would have drawn that game. If not won it.

Id say mccowan should take reos place just now. He has a nack of scoring and we need that.

 

The problem for Bernardo is he needs a run in the team. Not playing for 6 games then in for one where he does ok, nothing special then out again for another 6 games. He showed that he needs games to improve. A few years back O'Riley got injured and Bernardo played a load of games and looked great. Then O'Riley came back and he was in and out of the team again. The man needs games.

 

No pace, creativity or physicality. Too easily overrun.

 

This applies to Engels as well.

Hatate shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 for the foreseeable. An absolute passenger currently.

Our MF is so open and weak. To address this and get some grip if it, I'd get 4 in there. I think at home you could certainly drop 1 at the back and play 3.

That's 12 players mate and we have been so bad this season I still don't even know if we'd win with an extra man

 

Some of the better bits this season have been when weve had to play with a bit of urgency either due to being behind or drawing late on. Usually in those situations McGregor is the one driving forward with the ball.

Despite his age it shows that he still has the ability to he our best number 8.

Rodgers isn't ditching the 433 so wish he would use Bernardo as the 6 with McGregor and Engels as the 2 8s.

 

* aye, so it is. Remove McCowan. Thays how bad it is in there we need as many as we can get.

 

Thats the one I'd keep. Atleast he can score.
