The performance rather than the result is the most worrying thing. I’m not even slightly surprised they beat us today but that second half will be one of the easiest halves of football they’ll have all season.

I don’t actually think the result changes a huge amount tbh, a win would’ve merely papered over some ever growing cracks and a defeat isn’t a surprise.

He'll get a tune by being double digits behind by January.

You seem to be forgetting that Hearts have the resources to strengthen as well.. and clearly have a vasty more modern system of recruitment.

When has Rodgers ever been double digits behind in the league? Regardless of this and, more importantly, when has Rodgers ever lost us a league? :giggle1:

I’ve seen this story play out before. As long as we have a manager of Rodgers calibre and not Lennon, then I feel we can get there.

It the worst squad possibly this century. That’s not Rodgers’ making and Lennon/Ange/Pep/Knutsen (insert whatever manager if flavour of the month) also don’t get a tune out of this squad.

    As you were.

Next week on current trajectory.. when have you seen this play out before under Rodgers where we're 8 points down in October and the performances have no indication they're improving.

The second question doesn't need answered given we've never had this sustained period of horrendous performances under him.. in combination with the rank toxicity all around the club.

Nor have we had a Hearts team backed by a competent individual who will aid in their recruitment.

Neil Lennon when interviewed a few weeks back, basically asked could anyone else win league, NL just laughed and simply dismissed even the notion.

That pathetic arrogant mindset comes directly via Lawell.
That Lawell mindset arrogance which is a mindset virus is so anti everything the original foundations of Celtic were about, is and has been for too long concerning.

It is that very assumptive entitled arrogance that prevented chucked away 10 in a row.

For all his faults BR would never just dismiss or smirk anyone or any concept like lawell & his cronies habitually do

People are far too optimistic in this thread. There's always a shake up and big surprise every x decades. Look at Leicester City... It's been far too long since someone else won the league and we are due a shock to the system.

I voted "No", quite simply because I think at this point Hearts are more likely to go on and win the league than we are to find our form. We can still win it but I honestly think the odds favour them right now, and I feel dirty saying that.

Not really how it works, though. Rodgers’ track record in domestic cups spoke for itself…until it didn’t.

There’s been nothing in this calendar year to suggest Rodgers can get us firing again. How many big matches this year has he won?

    Even today I’ll say yes.

But I’m rapidly losing that confidence

I’d honestly just play B team in Europa league and keep the best 11 fit for the league games. We’d struggle to get through the play offs anyway so may as well just focus domestically, especially with the injuries.

We win the league if Rangers stay the current course and Hearts do what every other early contender outside of us and blue side do; falter when injuries come and the rest park the bus against them.

I think we’ll need both to happen. The alternative is a very strong January transfer window and that ain't happening.

Surprised people have voted yes. I've not watched one game this season where we look cohesive. A disjointed side, lacking quality, a manager who's checked out, insisting on playing tiki taka with guys who are shot for confidence due to them being called not good enough by their manager in every interview.

Will take a monumental collapse from hearts and the Huns to continue being a circus for us to scrape this title.
