I think Scales played left and Trusty right in Atalanta.

Trusty played on the right with Scales on the left when they were generally together.

Murray seems to have moved ahead in the pecking order. Got the nod v Livingston to start. Was on the bench v Dundee last week when Trusty didn't make the squad.

The selections tomorrow will tell a lot about Rodgers.

Atalanta, Dortmund and Aston Villa CCV was out. Trusty was right and Scales was left in all 3 games.

Grand old team to play for
I was sure Scales played on the right in those games.
Just watched the Atalanta highlights again and Trusty was on the right.

Think CCV might have been carrying a knock this season though - he hasn't been playing at his usual level. With Trusty, Murray and Pusey I think we're quite well covered.

Surprised by all the back and forth in the AJ thread about his injury yet there's only been a few posts in here. If Rodgers knew he was struggling, he should have been straight off the pitch. Can't imagine running about with a muscle injury, or whatever his injury is, will do you much favours.

If I'm right in saying, we couldn't sub him off - we'd have played with ten men.

I know Rodgers said he was struggling and would’ve ideally had him off but I was assuming that was a tiredness/cramp sort of thing. It looked as though his Achilles went right at the death when he went up for that header which is just extremely unfortunate and sort of sums up how this season has went to date.

Sure he was hobbling a bit before we took Tounekti off. Was mentioned by Lennon and you could see he looked uncomfortable.

Rodgers said he wanted to take him off but didn't - that's desperately poor judgment.
He cited substitution rules, that if he'd understood did actually allow him to make the sub together with or instead of Tounetki.

Which brings in another point, why take Tounetki off?
Rodgers seems to make subs for the sake off it at 60 and especially late on, often for less capable players (Yang or similar), often disrupting the team and often leaving us hanging on at the end.
Granted sometimes it's needed, but often it isn't but he does it anyway.

Maybe CCV Achilles would have gone anyway, at another time - but injuries are far more likely when tiring.
The whole AJ and CCV situation has been very poorly handled.

Nah all three Trusty was right. Scales has never played on the right, a right footer has always came in except Trusty.

The right footers all struggled too. The best was probably Nawrocki and even he was hounded out. Certain people in here don’t realise what we have in CCV till he’s out the team.

Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers will have an operation on his injured Achilles today.

The centre-back missed yesterday's defeat to Hearts after suffering the knock against Sturm Graz midweek, and has been ruled out for up to five months.

It is a headache for manager Brendan Rodgers, who opted for youngster Dane Murray alongside Liam Scales yesterday, The 22-year-old had a day to forget, scoring an open goal for the home side to open the scoring and also conceding a penalty for Lawrence Shankland to score their third.

Speaking after the game, the Northern Irishman delivered an update on Carter-Vickers.

He said: "Cameron Carter-Vickers will have an operation tomorrow. So like I said earlier in the week, he could be three to five months, depending on him, on that injury.”

A colossal blow. We’ll need a centre half in the next window now.

Fears are growing Cameron Carter-Vickerswon’t kick another ball for Celtic this season after he flew to London for surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The 27-year-old goes under the knife on Monday with medical experts warning he is already facing a race against the clock to be fit in time to represent the USA at next summer’s World Cup.

It’s understood the recovery process is likely to take as long as six months which means the American could be ready to return to action by around April at the earliest.

But that would depend on Carter-Vickers sailing through his rehab without suffering any further complications or setbacks.

And, given his recent track record of injury issues, that best case scenario is already believed to be highly unlikely.

Carter-Vickers collapsed in serious discomfort during the dying seconds of Celtic’s Europa League win over Sturm Graz on Thursday night

Boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Sunday, following a 3-1 defeat against Hearts, that the defender required an operation and that he could be sidelined for between three to five months.

But the prognosis appears to be even more gloomy with Carter-Vickers already sweating over his availability for next summer’s global showcase event in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Rodgers promoted Dane Murray into Celtic’s starting line-up for the table top showdown at Tynecastle and the youngster endured a nightmarish 90 minutes, scoring an own goal and giving away a penalty as Hearts stormed into an eight point lead over the champions..

Kind of injury you loan in an expensive older pro. Id like to sign someone aswel but we'll just waste £6m and keep them on the bench anyway.

Gutted he's out for so long. We're having awful luck with injuries in 2025.
