I don’t disagree and the summer window was a shambles but like you have laid out above to me Rodgers throws the toys out the pram when it isn’t going his way. Whether it’s one eye on what comes next or not I don’t know but in all those scenarios it is as if he isn’t fully 100% there.

In fact the only time I can actually recall how back being up against it and him pulling through is his first season back this time to get the double.

We all know the quality isn’t there and the fact we don’t actually have a recognised right winger at the club other than a Forrest that should have retired at the end of the 23/24 season having seen us over the line and went out on a high, is a disgrace but you can change and adapt.

Here is just one example though he tried to go 3-5-2 in game yesterday. Now during the last international break, although we had a number of players away we still had a lot of players here. Rodgers was away for a week popping up doing all these interviews etc, could we not have decided we are struggling for goals just now let’s try work on this alternative approach.

We CCV, Scales and Tierney have all played back 3 plenty in their careers. Iheanacho and Yamada were here we could have worked on a front 2. Sarrachi can play left wing back. Hatate and McGregor can play as a deeper 2 and then you have Balikwisha and Nygren who can play 10. The only issue at the moment is right wing back and Johnston isn’t far away? Engels was around and has played there for Ausburg before, knowing we would dominate the ball vs Dundee could we not have used the two weeks to try something like that out and have surprised them a bit?

Our form throughout 2025(and it's almost Nov) has been very poor indeed. With no signs of it changing. Not all on him but he is part of the problem right now.

Could be PTSD from covid season and the bizarre Honda civic comments from him.

    But I want him gone.

This is separate to anything going on between the fanbase and the board.

I would say he had his back to the wall in his final season here last time also after a pish summer window when we signed some utter dross. He had won the league cup, we were well on course to win the league and were in the quarters of the Scottish Cup when he left. I'm not going to speculate what does or doesn't happen at training as we don't know. What we do know however, is that we are sitting with the most amount of money we've ever had, yet we have arguably the poorest attacking options we have had since the 90s.

I agree that the summer window and current attacking options were/ are a shambles. But both this and the fact the manager/ key players are underperforming can both be true.

The forward line, I totally agree with in fact you are talking early 90’s as the second half of then we had the likes of PVH, Thom, Di Canio, Cadette, Larsson, Viduka etc who were all far better players than any of our forwards options the now. It’s ridiculous to have so much in the bank and such a poor team on the pitch.

However, would you have been confident that we would have brought in the required level of player? Balikwisha was signed and has been poor so far, Tounekti has shown flashes but going back we spent a fortune on some amount of rubbish.

I do think since the board didn't back him with players he has stopped caring as much. Its like he is in...what ever mode. This team is in trouble this season and all of them have to share the blame, the board, the players and the manager. Let's not forget that * DD in all this. The board only does what it does. Because he has set the rules and guidelines.

I think that too but I also hope/think his ego will push him to try and no leave with losing the league on his watch. This was meant to be his redemption arch.

I wouldn’t have been confident but I’d have at least liked us to try. Who decided that signing Tounetki and Balikwisha was a good idea? We needed a right winger more, but signed two left. It’s just a shambles. We’re a joke.

We are definitely a joke, to me we have literally never learned from any previous errors that have led to poor periods for the club.

If we had we would realise -

    - foreign players shouldn’t be at the club for more than 2 or 3 seasons before they go stale with Scottish football. Therefore you have to strategically flip part of your squad near enough every year.
    - in order to do that you can’t keep unhappy players and need to buy players in advance of when you anticipate actually needing them to be main first team players.
    - at the same time you need to have a healthy balance of some experience and also hungry youthful players.
    - In the current footballing environment you need a squad with at least 2 players for every position and there will be plenty of football to go about and competition for places.
    - when your on top you need to strengthen not just hold your position.

We literally do the opposite of the above and repeat it continuously. Literally one of the worst run football operations about for the level of resources we have.

Squad cost £47.3m v £120k but of course our "elite" manager couldn't possibly manage to get a goal against Dundee, Kairat, Huns, Hibs... poor old brendan

Excuses excuses every week. What did he do with the players during the international break on the training pitch? The team looks lost, bereft of ideas and robotic.

He talks about now he has to work with the squad, well nows the time to do that. Drop the ego. Integrate Yamada, Engels, Saarachi, Inamura, Balikwisha.

Stir the pot. Give Hearts something to think about rather than this horse shoe of * death pish. But he loves working with players and improving them, then do it. Drop the ego.

That Honda Civic comment is going to haunt him. Imagine saying that after playing Dun-*-dee. The guy with the best squad in the country, getting paid fortunes losing to a bunch of jobbers earning peanuts and he choose this game to make that comment. Embarrassed himself & set himself up for some amount of ridicule.

He normally plays the media pretty well but yeh that honda comment was an own goal.

Think he said it hoping the fans will redirect their ire on the board but dont think many are buying that one.

I dont think ive ever seen rodgers accept any blame for a loss though. Its always the players mentality, the players focus, the lack of quality etc

Calling our current crop of players a Honda Civic was completely uncalled for, I'm livid at him. What an insult to Honda Civics.

Brendan Rodgers spoke about finding Ferrari speed in a Honda Civic after Celtic suffered their first defeat away to Dundee in 37 years in Sunday's 2-0 William Hill Premiership match.

their on-going protest against the Parkhead board - part of which was down to a perceived poor summer transfer window - travelling fans immediately disrupted the game by throwing dozens of balls on to the pitch.

When the delay ended, Dundee defender Clark Robertson headed in from a corner in the 17th minute before defender Cameron Carter-Vickers put through his own goal just before the break to confirm Celtic's first loss at Dens Park since 198

Celtic lost Kyogo Furuhashi in January and Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn in the summer and Rodgers previously expressed dissatisfaction with the way the most recent transfer window transpired.

He said: "Listen, it's not all linear and all smooth right the way through the season. That's for sure.

"I think the challenge from the summer, now leading into here, where we lost a lot of firepower, a lot of goals out on the team.

"And there's no way you'll go into a race and be given the keys to a Honda Civic and say, 'I want you to drive it like a Ferrari'. It's not going to happen.

"So until something changes, I have to find the solutions. Because like I said, goals, speed, everything has come out of the team and we need to find a way to be better.

"It was clear in the summer, but it's really the past now. There's nothing we can do about it.

"We had the opportunities to do what we needed to do. It didn't happen, so now it's finding ways, whether it's 4-3-3, whether it's 3-4-3, whether it's 3-5-2. We're trying to look at all these different permutations within the team.

The Hoops remain five points behind leaders Hearts - whom they play at Tynecastle next weekend - following the Europa League tie against Sturm Graz on Thursday.

Rodgers told his players that they need to stand up and be counted.

He added: "I just said that this is where you really have to be a man, because playing for Celtic is great from the outside when you look in and you're winning trophies and playing great football - but you've got to deal with pressure.

"Also, the result and performance today wasn't good enough. It's not acceptable for Celtic.

"I've come here a number of times, a number of years and that today is not the level, so we have to find it."
