I’m still generally of the opinion that we’ll win the league, although it probably won’t be very pretty and maybe the gap won’t be quite as big as we’d typically like.

In saying that, I don’t think it’s anywhere close to being a foregone conclusion and I can absolutely see a Leicester style upset if we don’t buck up our ideas. The summer was a disaster, and the board are a shower of parochial, regressively-minded *, but we simply can’t accept or tolerate players or the coaching staff being ‘checked out’, half-arsed, or of the arrogant belief that things will turn out alright because we’re Celtic. It’s obviously not a 1:1 comparison, but there’s some warning signs that are scarily reminiscent of the COVID season.

At the moment, it feels like we’re holding on to the hope that Hearts don’t have the squad, or the experience, needed to go all the way, and that as long as we’re there or thereabouts come January that we can try and course correct when the window opens.

Regardless of whether we win the league or not, this season needs to be a wake up call. Football is changing, we’ve seen it in the context of Europe, and now we’re potentially seeing it in our domestic game as well - yet we seem to be content to stand still or arguably even regress in some aspects. The apple cart is very much at risk of being upset if we don’t start getting with the times.

When we're not playing well I have no interest in the League, so I couldny gee a *.

We need to get signings in in January then take it from there.

    I still think we will..

Bit less convinced after yesterday but AJ back will be big. I'm still hopeful we'll click in to hear and Rodgers will get his acy together before January, then we can sort out the glaring weak spots in the team..

If AJ comes back in, Engels plays every week, Trusty comes back in for depth then I expect us to kick on a bit..

    Saracchi
    Engels
    Balikwisha starting more centrally
Nygren no as a box to box 8 and maybe off the right with an overlapping Johnston capable of covering that whole right side
Maeda back firing and injury free

It's no gonna be easy but don't get beat next Sunday and keep it as tight til January as possible..

I don’t think it’s impossible for Huns to catch us.

As you say they could get a new manager bounce.

We’re stuck with a manager who doesn’t want to be there.

Yes, it's only 8 games in and yes there's a January window to come but, we are in dire need of several new players and I just don't see our board sanctioning a big spend to improve the team and there's no chance the current crop of players and the manager will win the league playing g the way they have since the tail end of last season.

This next two weeks will go a long way to telling us. The team majorly needs a big win to boost confidence which looks shot just now.

I am not confident we will do it or get that win but this feels like it could quickly spiral to being a total disaster. We could be 8 back in the league, out of Europe and out the league cup over the next fortnight. That game yesterday was meant to be a nice warm up for a tough run.

    "Players not good enough"

Yet the majority of this team took us to within a second of the last 16 in the champions league.

    So they are good enough.

A new manager, and watch them destroy teams. Summer cant come quick enough to be rid of this pish play.

    Yes, I think we will.

There is a good chance whoever wins the league this year will do it with record low points. I think Celtic, Hearts and Rangers will drop an awful lot of points over the course of the season.

Celtic are still the best team at grinding out wins when playing bad. We have shown it time and time again. I think we have enough options to find a bit of spark from someone somewhere in the squad. Jota coming back will make a difference. And if it really came down to pressure games at the end of the season, we have the most experience to get over the line.

I really dont see a collapse from Hearts but when they start picking up injuries and suspensions they will drop points. They have a tough run in December, and would be amazed if they were undefeated over that period.

Rangers will improve at some point but will need to get a lot right in January to challenge for the league. And they just look and feel like bottle merchants. I dont think they handle pressure. At 20/1 though they are definitely the smart money bet! Given how bad we are, they shouldnt be that long.

Need to beat hearts on Sunday imo. If we don't then the pressure is off them and they can continue building their lead.

I don't think this is anything like the sheep last season. This hearts team actually seem to have a bit of quality about them and we really need to apply the pressure to test them.

Finding it impossible to decide. There's too many unknowns at this point...Will Hearts capitulate? Will Rodgers get his head out his *? Will the Huns improve any?

I'd probably lean towards 'yes' purely because we're so used to winning, but we are proper pish the now and I don't see where the improvement comes from in the current setup. So don't think there's any way to predict what's gonna happen.

If we do win the league this season it'll be down to the fact that the rest are simply worse than we are. Nothing more.

The only way I see us winning the league and overcoming the glaringly obvious issues with the squad is buying our way out of trouble in January. Which has some caveats to it as well…

    1) Actually recruiting a good level of player
    2) Assuming Tony Bloom doesn’t invest heavily in January for Hearts

Unbelievable how much we’ve regressed. We are * shockingly bad.

The heady mix of an incompetent board who have left us with a shambolically impotent and unbalanced squad and a manager who seems to be working his ticket. Not exactly a recipe for success.

It's hard to say at this stage who will win the league. Obviously Hearts are in pole position just now, five points ahead and with their tails up.They have won 11 of their 13 games in all competitions this season, their only defeat coming after a penalty shoot-out against St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup.They have brilliant deliveries at set plays, both inswingers and outswingers and the size and aggression they have got, will give us major problems at Tynecastle. As I say, too hard to say at this stage, but undoubtedly the showdown at Tynecastle on Sunday, will have a major say in the destination of the league I suspect.

Yes, even if we lose on Sunday (which we won't; I think we'll get at least a draw). I'm confident we'll still win the league by a comfortable margin, too. Like, by at least 15-20 points.

I'm really looking forward to the game at Tynecastle. It should be a high-scoring corker (like a 3-4), but this season has been so replete with surprises that you just don't know what to expect next - and I love that! I love that there is more competition this year and every team seems stronger (except Rangers, ironically), not least Hearts. This season just feels different. I'm relishing the challenge that lies ahead.

    I just looked at my BetVictor app for Sunday's game ... 11/5 5/2 21/20. I'll go with a 1-2 away win.

I want a * knows option, I certainly wouldn’t put money on us winning the league but my heart says yes.

My answer to these questions is ALWAYS yes, of course we will... But I can't shake the sense that this is just like the COVID season all over again... Moved players we couldn't replace, held players that wanted to move, severe unrest with the manager, fans/manager/board all going in different directions...

I think we will probably NIP IT BY A THREAD, which is shocking given our strength potential coming into the season, but I actually worry that we might lose it by a thread as well, by sheer incompetence...

If 70 points is enough then yes

    So no

    We won't win the league
