One of the positive differences with the COVID year is that everyone takes this possibility seriously now. That gives us a much better chance of doing what is needed to avoid that outcome.

My experience of the COVID year was that we largely skipped the stage of seeing there was a problem and trying to solve it and just went directly from a delusional faith that the Huns were * to full on toxicity.

I think we will. The squad isn’t performing just now but we’ll have players back from injury and Rodgers is still a good manager.

Sooooo much still to happen before we know that.

What I will say is after Sunday, Hearts have still to visit Paisley, Fir Park, Pittodrie, Celtic Park, and Easter Road before the end of 2025.

They have a big run of tough away games coming up.

Obviously there’s the fact we have some tough away matches too, but Hearts have sooooo many difficult fixtures you wouldn’t fancy them winning.

Thats what makes Sunday so vital now. We win and it gives them no breathing space ahead of a tough tough run. They win or draw and they have room to fail or drop some points.

Probably, but actually strengthening the team in January would make me more confident.

Unfortunately yes we will win the league as hearts will fall apart come january. And the reason I say unfortunately is because it will give the board some breathing room.

Don't want us to lose but sometimes a death scare can reboot the whole club and fish out the dead wood

I couldn’t tolerate the Huns winning the league but I could tolerate Hearts winning the league if it brought about permanent, meaningful change in the Boardroom.

Even they couldn’t justify their positions if Hearts won the league. There would be a flood of resignations.

Hearts winning the league might actually be the very thing that is required to see wholesale changes at the club.

IF we somehow win the league, too many people will forget the start to the season we’ve had and it won’t be long before we are in another mess.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but Sunday is massive. The psychological lift it would give the Hearts players if they win could be difficult to stop.
Tony Bloom has really shown our board for what they are.

Hate to say it but I voted no.

For me it's just based on logic - we ain't scoring. We are pretty much always dominant domestically in terms of possession but it means absolutely nothing if we ain't scoring. You can't really see where the goals will come from either.

If Hearts win at the weekend, that's 8 points and I really don't see them doing an Aberdeen and completely collapsing.

There is temptation to compare them to Aberdeen of last season but for me there is no comparison at all for a few simply reasons:

Our standard is far lower than last year

Aberdeen had a freak run of form - it surprised everyone. No one expected then to perform or maintain it long-term

Hearts have a manager that has troubled us at time with Aberdeen. Combined with what seems like some decent signings

Hearts have a board with ambition we wish our board had. They very well could ramp up in Jan. Even if it is some loans to add depth

Hearts have a upbeat mentality right now, everything is doom and gloom at our end (completely the boards doing)

But most importantly, we are just not scoring. I suspect between now and December alone we will draw a lot of games.

I think we will but have a nagging feeling that Hearts could do a Leicester

Voted No as we can't score goals and can't defend.

I still think we will, but we’re making it difficult. And we’re only 8 points ahead of a hun team who just need a manager who can settle them down a bit to start winning games.

We need to hang in there until January, back the team massively in that window, and the manager needs to change his tactics with the current squad of players.

If he doesn’t then we’re done.

I think we will but we’ll scrape through until January then the board will try to appease the fan base by spending fairly big and then we’ll romp it.

Right now i think we will have enough to see it out but it will be a slog and prob dependent on being able to financially out muscle hearts in the jan window.

It's exciting regardless. Come january I suspect we will bring in some players to make a go of it. Fully expect hearts to still be top come new year
