I know it's trivial, but wish he would stop linking them in with us. Keeps doing it when talking about pressure and expectation.

Watch what you wish for

 

It’s baffling.

His first spell, domestically, was faultless from a silverware perspective. But by season 3 the football was stale and tough to watch.

In his second go, the air of being untouchable has completely gone. * two trophies out of 6 against Killie and a dreadful Aberdeen. His record against the huns has been fairly pitiful. Couldn’t beat Ferguson or Martin (their worst manager in * knows how long).

And the standard of football has been shocking for months.

I just think it’s fairly obvious that things are stale and need refreshed. From the boardroom (hopefully) to the dugout.

Someone with fresh ideas and a new energy.

 

Cant agree with that Im afraid.

His reputation in the transfer market is poor for a reason, as his reputation as "long-term" manager.

When i railed against his reappointment I cited fears about these things. Precisely three things.

- His poor transfer record
- His atrocious European record
- His inability to maintain standards for more than two seasons.

All three have come to pass at all three of his last clubs. Twice at our own now.

At the time, even now, he has had his defenders. These people always conflate one of these things as the reason for the other existing; that he gets shafted by his club in the market, then poor performances follow.

I simply dont buy that. The inescapable truth for me, as harsh as it sounds, is he gets found out by opposing managers and is incapable of pragmatic adjustments.

Even if it were true; why do these clubs shaft him? Did the money at all three clubs suddenly dry up? You could say yes for Leicester City to an extent, but not Liverpools transfer committee, and certainly not here.

Im not for one second defending what our board have done to him. Theyre * * and need put up against a wall.
But perhaps his poor transfer business is a reason that transfer control is taken away from him, or that boards are unwilling to keep paying large fees for players under his watch once they deem his picks as money down the drain.

Either way, a Brendan Rodgers third season is historically a * show.

Yes our board have well and truly * him, but he still has enough to do his job.

This season is looking par for the course for Rodgers. Hes * the CL qualifying against a far inferior side, currently sitting second domestically, firing blanks in the Europa league, most importantly playing eye bleeding football. Hes also spectacularly failed against a host of consecutive Sevco managers who have been national jokes and derided by their own fans.

If we win the title this year its not because Brendan Rodgers is an "elite manager". It will be a pure gift from both a stuttering Sevco and a Derek McInnes who couldn't stay in the race. Even though we STILL have the best squad in the league, neither of those things are guaranteed. Hearts could push on and on. And Sevco might get their * together.

Either way, lift or lose the league, he has to go at the end of the season.

 

I agree the football is * and a typical Rodgers team is all about that possession but have you saw the squad we have at our disposal.

The only player with a spark of genius is Tounetki. We have no bums off seats players.

 

The best we can hope for here is three points.
The team selection absolutely stinks, * is Rodgers playing at ?
We are playing like a team that does not believe in itself anymore.

Every single player has regressed since the season started. Not a coincidence.

The toys are out the pram and the performances have dropped to even worse levels than the tail end of last season.

Get him to * before we're fighting for a top 6 finish.
