I will believe it when its actually official. Until then I will file this one under very suspicious timing. Don't get me wrong I really hope this is actually genuine and happens but the timing of this makes me very suspicious.

Hoping things have hit home with the club at this point. I've no doubt we're always looking at players between windows, just one of our self inflicted failings has been things like this story being leaked by someone from 'their' side seems to have had us pulling the plug due to 'confidentiality' issues.

They'd do well to forget trying to control things like that and ploughing on regardless, if it's a player we want. One of the many small things we can implement to make improvements with recruitment.

Would rather have that David Watson of Kilmarnock. Can play the 6, is all action, and a midfield dynamo.

Hate to be negative but he just looks like an Engels clone. I think our scouts are taking the * recently, there must be better talent out there.

If we start bidding the now we might get it over the line by the end of January. Taking this with a massive pinch of salt to be honest.

On Clark, he looks like a ball carrying player with good feet. Still quite young but you'd be a little worried about the lack of end product and he seems to play higher up the pitch. For £6m I think he's worth a punt - still only 20 and you'd expect him to fill out and get that bit more powerful and dynamic in the next year or so. Seems to be good at pressing too from those clips.

The initial reports seemed to suggest it was all done but that seems to have been completely quashed by other sources so I think The Times journo has compeltely jumped the gun. It would be highly unusual (although not unheard of) for a loan deal to be broken so the player can be sold to another club. I'd imagine Derby would have to agree to this and I don't think there is much to this to be honest so we will just have to wait and see.

Unsure tbh. Not had a great career lately, but obviously has potential. One thing is certain we need a proper refresh of our midfield.

Meanwhile, the Irishman poured scorn on speculation linking Celtic with a £6 million move for RB Salzburg midfielder Bobby Clark.

The son of former Newcastle United and Sunderland midfielder and former Kilmarnock manager Lee has allegedly been lined up for a £6 million switch to Glasgow.

The 20-year-old ex-Liverpool midfielder is currently on loan at English Championship side Derby County and has made 10 appearances this season.

Reports down south had indicated that Celtic were 'set' to sign the former Liverpool academy product when the transfer window opens in January.

Clark appeared 14 times under Jurgen Klopp from 2022 to 2024.

However, Derby County manager John Eustace revealed that he hadn't heard anything about a potential Celtic move for Clark.

Rodgers reiterated that stance and insisted that the story had come from left field and he was completely unaware of it.

The 52-year-old said: "It's one that's come from a long way out. I wouldn't normally say anything on anything, but I really don't know where that has come from at all. Especially in October. I'm really not sure where that's come from."

Personally I don't care if he is one of them. We have had plenty of them over the decades.

Watson is a * good player. Good Prestwick lad, and would make a world of difference to our midfield.

Can't see us spending £6m for anyone in January, probably lucky to spend that much altogether with the uncertainty over BR future.

The squad needs it though regardless who the manager is. Its this sort of attitude that will see us struggle to get a decent manager in to replace BR.

It does need it but who's signing would it be ? Because we know if it's not Rodgers wanting him then we won't be seeing him this season.

We’ll spend big in January, nothing loosens purse strings more than the potential for the gravy train to end for any currently mid-clouted individual.
