It's a decent English source, so likely true.

Has the board realised that anges way of working was better and that getting players in early is beating or have they just shut themselves about lack of sales

He was tipped to be one of the Crown Jewels in the Liverpool academy but then his development fell off a cliff.

Pretty much like the defensive mid we got linked with in summer from them Stefan Bajcetic.

Liverpool are doing what Man Utd did in the late 90’s and 00’s and sell these so called amazing youth players for good money and in reality their development has stalled and they make big money cause it’s Liverpool.

Only reason Clark went to RB is cause of the former assistant coach went on to manage them.

He a 10 player and we don’t play that formation to accommodate home so be 6 million gamble to be spunked away.

Clark has been a massive flop at both Salzsburg and Derby and for £6m there’ll probably be better options in the market.

Lightweight and easily pushed off the ball, and we don't need another 10.

Given he signed on loan for Derby and has played 8 games it's fairly safe to say he also can't be the player the board claim we were close to signing before injury and could revisit in January.

If he can't play right wing or up front why are we signing him?

With our current set up, it’s more believable that this is us finally getting a deal over the line from the summer rather than us being proactive and planning ahead for January…

    Bingo..

The whole midfield needs ripping up for me..

No saying McGregor completely out or that but definitely no a guaranteed first pick moving and need a successor soon..

Hatate I'm a fan of but realise he's way too stale and should look to move on at the summer latest..

Bernardo my feelings are known. Would punt in a second. Offers nothing for me..

McCowan a decent wee squad player off the bench at times..

Engels has shown a lot of quality on the highest stage. Would persevere every week with him for now..

    That's McGregor - a successor needed
    Engels -another option to add
    Clark - McCowan

Still need more athleticism and physicality in there..

Going off on one here that maybe should've been added to the midfield thread but for the homegrown quota, we missed out on Miller. Didn't go for Mulligan. I previously didn't want him but he's been right on form and it's David Watson. Just watched a wee video of him and bit of the Broony about him from his early years at Hibs. All action, plenty of pace, pops up with goals and assists. Think he's a player that might be on our radar soon..

CeltsAreHere understands that, despite reports circulating earlier today, there has been no contact between Celtic and RB Salzburg regarding midfielder Bobby Clark at this stage.
Stories claiming the Hoops were preparing a €7 million January bid began to surface, but sources close to both clubs have confirmed that no talks have taken place and no approach has been made for the 20-year-old.

Clark, currently on loan at Derby County, has made an excellent impression in the Championship under John Eustace. His composure on the ball and sharp decision-making have earned praise, leading to speculation that bigger clubs were taking notice. However, there’s nothing to suggest Celtic are moving on this one right now.

Brendan Rodgers and his recruitment team are expected to be active in the January transfer window, targeting creative options to strengthen the midfield. Clark fits the kind of profile Celtic tend to track, young, technically gifted, and with strong resale potential, but he’s not currently one of the club’s priority targets.

Derby boss John Eustace has also commented on the story, dismissing talk of any imminent move. He made clear that Derby have no plans to cut the loan short, describing Clark as a key part of their project this season

For now, Celtic’s focus remains on existing targets already identified by the scouting department ahead of the January window. Clark’s name may come up again later in the campaign, but as things stand, talk of a deal with RB Salzburg looks premature at best.
