Nawrocki is another example of a player who becomes a world-beater the more he doesn't play. He's currently struggling to make the bench for a Bundesliga 2 side. He is looking more and more a dud and it looks like Rodgers is becoming more and more vindicated with his decision on that.

Yamada is getting chances right now. He is around 25 games without a goal across all his latest appearances for club and country.

Someone must have seen some good in this guy before he was signed, we must assume he is * useless in training if he is not getting game time, come the winter transfer window if things continue then move him on, we appear to have far too much deadwood in this squad.

People saying he's getting better the less he plays...he's meant to be fast as * and you're not telling me he's less technically gifted than daizen...the whole signing is bizarre but I don't think anyone is in a position to slag the guy considering we've seen about 3 appearances.

Another player we've brought in with zero plan of what to do with him..

Can't get a game. Wasn't loaned out. Just wasting about, like a few others..

The Yamada situation is just bizarre too.

He definitely made an impact at Ibrox, ruffled their feathers, and then suddenly bombed out the team, and bombed out the squad it would seem too.

    * is going on here ?

Shin has speed to burn and is a handful, and looks like he could well do a bit of serious damage from that right wing, where the manager has tried a procession of players who have failed to cut it.

I wanted him tried there against Kairat, but Rodgers elected to go for Yang who never turns up in big games, and everybody knows that too, and followed through with a clearly done Forrest.

Would far rather see him on the bench ahead of Kenny. He finished top scorer in Japan did he not last season and goals is something we're lacking of. Makes no sense to not use him. Rodgers needs to get over his disdain of club signings amd use him properly.

Next bench will be Braga, so no Shin in the squad.

He’ll be punted on loan in January. A waste of everyone’s time this transfer.

Rodgers clearly didn’t want him and, even if he’s better than Kenny, simply won’t play him to prove a point.

Kenny definitely isn’t going to make it here. Surely Shin or Osmand deserve a run from the bench.

Rodgers is both right and wrong over this... He's right that there should've been an out and out 1st choice striker brought in ALONGSIDE these kinda guys, and not these pennypincher signings alone... He's also completely wrong to them spit the dummy out and refuse to use any of them. They're signed, they're our players now, they're talented players still even if not what he wanted. It's * on the fans and especially the players themselves to persevere with players unhappy/unsettled players just to make a petty point...

The old adage of the more a player doesn't play the better he gets.

Yamada is a 25 year old striker who has not scored in his last 20+ apperances across club and country. He was called up a Japanese thirds squad recently and got about 10 minutes off the bench over 3 games.

I don't want to diss the guy as he could turn out to be a player but I don't see where people get the expectation he should be playing or featuring for us.

Shin scored 19 goals in 38 league games in his previous campaign in Japan. He showed he had something in his cameo at Ibrox, it was the only time in that game that their two centre backs looked troubled, and they started fouling him like anything.

I quote Rodger's own words on Yamada when signed for us .

"I know he is really keen to make his mark here in European football and deliver for Celtic and I think he is someone who has the power, athleticism and intensity in his play to do really well for us."

    So what changed ?

Yamada is easily, Easily our 2nd best option after Iheanacho and it is not even close.

Not sure if anything has changed. He arrived at Celtic severely out of form and off the back of a very poor season in Japan.

Pretty much the universal theme across Japanese football bloggers and journos was that they were surprised Celtic were moving for both him and Inamura.
