Im seeing absolutely nothing to give, even hope at this stage with him.

Doesn't look any better than Yang. There, i said it.

 

Still early, but he was a completely empty shirt today.

 

If we'd bought a right winger in, and then had this guy playing anywhere along the front line we'd be in a much better place.

Seems lost but also isolated on that wing, hopefully we work out his game over the next few weeks

 

He unfortunately looks like the player in his YouTube reels.

Looked an empty shirt today, which was worrying, and I was rooting for us to sign him.
Won't pan him yet, because that pitch was shocking, and the conditions were also shocking, and our midfield is powder puff, but Tounekti was class in the same conditions. He looked lost out on that right wing, needs to get more involved and impose himself on the game. I wonder if he would actually be better in that defensive midfield role, because he tracks back well and can put in some tackles.But we really need him to perform on that right wing just now, because Forrest is done and Yang is not good enough.

 

Tounekti has played a lot of football on plastic pitches.

It doesn’t excuse him basically doing nothing. But it explains why Tounekti was so comfortable.

 

The feeling I had with him was that we tracked him forever and never really moved to sign him because we werent really sold on him. Like a fall back option if we couldnt find anyone else.

The concern for me at the moment is that he doesnt really seem to want the ball or want to take a man on. We have a whole midfield of backwards and sideweays passers that we could really do without our winger being another. At one point Nygren gave the ball to him with plenty of space to attack the byline and he just passed the ball right back to him with an opponent closing Nygren down. Nygren loses the ball and ends up getting booked.

Stark contrast with Tounekti on the other side who was eager to get on the ball and attack.

 

Keep starting him. Very important, especially against Thistle. He will come good

I can't really judge him yet, as I've only seen him once (I couldn't see him today as I was still working during the first half and on public transport for the second); but my first thought when I read your post is that Yang has improved quite a lot from when he arrived. I wanted to say that Balikwisha is definitely better than Yang was when he arrived.

Then I Googled his age and found out he's a year older than Yang.

Like I say, I haven't seen enough of him to judge; but if you're right and he really is no better than Yang, that is shocking recruitment.

 

Surely we can’t have scouted a guy for over a year and that’s what we get??? Timid, doesn’t take his man on, no mental fortitude, he needs time but if this is as good as it gets then someone should be following the board out the door!!

 

Just didn't offer anything today but we have to be patient with him. Be interesting to see if Forrest starts over him midweek.

 

Yeah, he looks exactly like the player I thought he was. Slow and can't dribble.

Will give him time but the early signs aren't promising. Would shock me more if he wasn't a dud to be honest.

A dose of confidence will bring a spring to his step.
