At this point his position is untenable. He must go, not interested in any excuses or promises. For Celtic's future Nicholson, Lawwell, McKay and Desmond all must go.

Your unfortunately right which is why even more so for me he must go. Celtic fan he claims but he is actively sabotaging our club and needs to be removed.

I hear you. It will not be easy to put it mildly to get rid of Desmond and his board cronies. But for me that is where we are at. Until we accomplish that the future of Celtic is bleak as these people have no ambition and no plans to further improve the club and build us up for the short and the long term. Instead their approach actively holds us band and hamstrings us. It won't be easy and will take time but we can get after them at a corporate level if we can start to gather the dormant shares and put pressure on other shareholders for change. All the while at fan level making it clear that they are no longer either welcome or wanted at Celtic as they are actively sabotaging the club.

Honestly just don't think he's qualified for the job but that seems to be a recurring theme. Can't have people with fresh ideas in place showing up the dinosaurs.

He and the rest of the Board are not going to resign due to supporter pressure, they endured that during the Covid season and still managed to get through it as if nothing happened, sad state of affairs that MN understands how angry the supporters are by banding together to write a 300 word statement demanding answers and the chances are that We will have to wait till the end of the month for the year end accounts being published before He will release a statement which will be the usual soundbites of "we tried" "transfer fees outwith our budget" "difficult to attract players to Scotland" none of these excuses will be accepted as the supporters have heard them all before,if Nicholson and The Board are very concerned that supporters are opting out of HCTS and refusing to buy Europa League packages and club merchandise they should be brave enough to step up and be open with the supporters and hold a Q&A event at Celtic Park in a similar way that Michael and Kevin Kelly did on Sport In Question in the early 90's when the supporters asked some very difficult questions of them and the way the club was being run for their own self preservation, We do know that this will never happen with MN and the current Board as it would show them all up as being out of touch and that would only fuel the anger and frustrations of the supporters.

Your absolutely right neither Michael Nicholson nor anyone else who should on the Celtic board will resign nor will Dermot Desmond do the right thing and sell up. They are way too arrogant for that unfortunately. If they were truly Celtic fans and wanting to act in the clubs best interest for the future they would but they won't. Which is why the campaign to oust them from the board and get Dermot Desmond out likely will be a lengthy one. But I firmly believe they have pushed their conservative approach too far this time and there is no turning back now. They are toxic and while it will be hard and take time to gather the dormant shares and build up an ability to go after them at corporate level that is the direction we need to go in IMHO.

So every signing can be a ‘club signing’

We effectively have a DoF duties carried out between Maloney and Tisdale. They just aren’t above the manager in the pecking order. To me, I love the notion of that. But we will always fall at the same bottleneck, we could have the best DoF in the world here, the board will still be carrying out bringing about what they want

Based on the feeling in that meeting and what was said by the rep for the Irish supporters Assoc this guy really is as clueless as we all think he is.

I should add, the gentleman who spoke tonight was present at the meeting with Nicholson last week.

Which sounded like an absolute mess. He is completely unqualified.

The point was raised in ACSOM this week, he should never have been given thr opportunity to have his forst ever CEO job as Celtic CEO.

Its not a job for a novice. He got it cause he could say yes repeatedly.

I am still not entirely convinced that the only reason he is in the job is a front for Lawwell still having far more influence than a non exec Chairman should.

When Lawwell was CEO Nicholson was the legal secretary who essentially checked the contracts. He seems ill equipped to handle transfer negotiations, he doesn’t do public speaking and has no idea what a vision is let alone how to deliver one.

Genuinely like an actor cast in the wrong movie and being very well paid for it.

Aye fairly confident this guy will be the first scapegoat they pass up.

A * lawyer as a sporting CEO - having never done that sort of job before.
At a club this size as well, mental he was ever given the job. But we all know why he got it. Which is a bigger issue as we all know.

If what I'm hearing (and Shelby will confirm shortly) from the meeting tonight, then there is gonna be likely some planned action that likely will scale up (I imagine), just a matter of time before the PR of it all is enough for the club to give someone up as they did with ML and JD and even PL himself symbolically stood down, knowing fine well at the time he was gonna take over from Bankier a year and later anyway.
