Dempsey was emptied because he was only putting up £500k and wanted to be chairman. John Keane put in best part of £1M but didn’t want any public fanfare. Weisfeld’s stepson McDonald was for putting in the same, but again kinda fancied the limelight.

Fergus was putting in the balance, several million more than any of them, so he decided to go it alone as he was taking most of the risk.

Chris Trainer’s family invested heavily at what was called “ambassador level” (minimum £250k) at first share issue.

Anyway, read David Low’s book Rebels in Paradise, it’s all in there.

my family were original shareholders and at first share issue under Fergus, in order to retain our seats in the Jock Stein Lounge we each had to invest a minimum of £3k in shares over and above our yearly fees.

we were all then sent to Slaters for our blazers. I wore mine once, it then stayed in it suit carrier till my cousin stole it. * that for a game of soldiers!

Its been years since I've read that..

We've had shares since the 1st issue under Fergus too..

Didn't realise Trainer had been involved for so long.

Yeah his family owned Trainer Outdoor Advertising which then became The Forrest Group. He sold it for tens of millions in 2018 or round about then, but he had his blazer from the start. He is a good guy. He may have gone with the flow for so many years, but I would suggest that the current vibe will cause him concern as he really truly is a fan.

I did think this earlier. Gotta be. Can they get folk to sign NDA type agreements at this point. Over 400 groups signed up.

Probably not a lot of confidential stuff discussed at this point. But no doubt there'll be rats there in place of the board.

Is this up to date. Seen a few other sites saying lindsell train have about 18%.

Not really sure how it all works but as they are an investment capital firm would they be most likely to sell up as long as they make a decent profit?

Possibly worth reaching out to * Haughey, very respected and well known figure. He was a guy a lot of fans got behind when going up against the old board. Unsure of what his thoughts are with current regime and if he's still up for a fight but think someone like him rather than an ex player would be very beneficial
