Same. Hoping it stays that way for as long as possible.

Funny you should say that, I'm fully exempt also, but on the grounds of being found guilty of "alleged" threatening behaviour against someone with a familiar face.

Ask your work for an exemption letter and forward it on to them. That's how I dodged it start of the year.

Simply can't afford it. Taking the chance on maybe being covered for my full wage just isn't something I want to contend with. I have to do every bit of overtime I can just to stay afloat. From the civic duty perspective they can shove it up their * as far as I'm concerned. My only duty is to make sure I keep up with my bills and put food on the table.
Really not interested in doing it. Would love to have the balls to just tell them that.

There is one thing guaranteed to stop you being picked. Having a conviction. Not speeding conviction but criminal conviction.

Ive been called up 3 times in last 2 years.

First time I was busy at work so gave them my availability. Didnt hear anything back until day before and they said I wasnt needed.

Few months later I was called up but had a foreign holiday booked. Had to send them evidence then was exempted

Few months later I just did what I was told. Worked from home that week and called every night. Waste of time, I wasnt needed. Since then they havent bothered me.

I wouldnt mind at all if they just covered your salary for the time required. Absolute cheek to expect people take a hit for an indefinite time.

My manager was called up, he was annoyed as it was during the school holiday but he agreed to go. Sent him home early after a week as he wasn't used. He was fuming.

I got called up years ago, 2006 or 2007. I wrote to them saying I suffered from absence seizures meaning I could easily miss 10 seconds of evidence and be unaware and therefore couldn't give a fair verdict. That is all true, but I also didn't want to do it as I was working temp jobs at the time and if you went to jury service you just got replaced. Now I'll never get called.
