In line with the email I received today from North Curve, I thought it worthwhile to gauge opinions on the forum regarding the recent no confidence vote.

Part of the email I received mentions that not all signatories were able to consent their 'no confidence' vote against the board, but that this may be possible in future. The forum is included amongst that.

Now, we have thousands of members, many of whom are no longer active. But reading through the threads over recent days and months I think the vast majority of us are singing from the same hymn sheet. It will obviously be impossible for me to get the views of every single member but if you could please vote yes or no this would be useful to even get an idea of where we are at.

If we could also keep this thread on topic that would be appreciated. There's plenty other threads now open to discuss the board and ongoing issues

    Cheers all.

May be best to even lock it for no replies and leave the chat for elsewhere?

Was going to do this but thought folk may not even bother entering it if they seen it locked. But will give it a bash!

There are something like 95m shares in total in Celtic PLC. That is the equivilent of about 16,000 x the capacity of CP. At current market value of £1.76p per share.

It is not 1 person, 1 vote.

So while fans on here, in other parts of Celtic cyberspace, subscribers of TV or in the stands or whatever/whereer else, might kick up a stink and say, * yes, the fact is, they cannot vote for a motion of no confidence in the Board, unless they are also shareholders.

First off, only shareholders can vote.

Secondly, about 20-25 people control over 85-87% between them.

DD and the Board combined own &/or control via proxy about 48.4%, which literally means any 1 of about a dozen or more people who own 2% if they side with DD & the Board, it's game over right there.

And unlike most supporters whose main objective here is entirely concerning Celtic, the sort of people that have that sort of holding in their portfolio are not likely to want to cross/make enemies with DD, considering that they likely have more business with DD/his companies/subsidiaries than just Celtic.

I understand that this is a symbolic gesture, and I am not defending the Club executives, the actions (or lack thereof and espeically the timing) taken or that statement issued at the weekend. Not for a moment.

This is not about playing devil's advocate, however this is just a reality and to temper people's expectations.

This is a very different situation from 30-odd years ago, and like in so many matters, one does need to ask who stands to benefit in all of this?
