He is not & has never been overly quick & looks way better when played as a ten behind the striker. I watched him a fair bit when he played at Leicester & he was pretty bad in his last season at the Championship level. He left as a free & went to Sevilla who in turn loaned him out to Middlesbrough where he was pretty poor as well.
Rodgers knows him well & maybe he can get a tune out of him but it a total gamble in my opinion.

I'm expecting very little here so anything above that I'll take as a plus.

Reckon about 30 goal involvements and we should trigger, more to.it than just goals and assists though

His best season ever was in the Premier league in 2020/21 when he got 12 goals & 2 assists. Obviously the SPL is a little easier but 30 is a big ask !!

Season 20/21 he scored 19 goals and got 7 assists in all competitions. A season he started almost half the games from the bench in the league into the bargain. 16 starts, bench 13 and subbed on 9 of those.

As I said it's more than just goals and assists, if he gets 20 but does other good work like hold up play etc then that could be acceptable but I think a main striker for Celtic should get 20 to 25 goals plus some assists to take goal involvements to 30

Just read his interview and I wouldn't like to be his opposition during his fight for silverware. Those knives and forks in the canteen are not safe.

In the SPL a Glasgow based striker should be expected to get at least 15 goals. I fear we have another Cifci/Fortune on our hands.

Harsh comparing Fortune to Ciftci. Neither scored much but Fortune was a much better player.

Jez, we know the transfer window was a * take. We know in all reality this guy is probably at the club becuase Rogers just happened to have his mobile number in his phone......but as of now he is (one of) our striker. I dont know how much confidence plays in a footballers head, or how much a player reacts to the sentiment of fans during a game, or even just in general.....but slamming this guy before he has kicked a ball is not gonna help.....

We kind need him to "find his home" at Celtic, so lets at least start with alot of encouragement and maybe a little lee-way, to see if he can do it....

AND NO I AM NOT COMPARING THE INDIVIDUALS - but we signed a Chris Sutton for a * of alot of money at the time, on the back of a season where he started less than a 1/3 of the games for Chelsea and i think recorded 1 goal......but he scored, created, worked hard and settled well....maybe Kelechi will find a home.

He actually does. We all might owe him an apology.

It’s literally the opposite of a gamble.

We can * him off in a year if he’s * and he’s definitely better than having nobody.
