Come on, his last two windows where a shambles, he wanted McGinn and the right back and didn’t get them instead a load of loan players.

He saw the writing on the wall and what was going to happen and then walked after getting the offer.

The point is more that why should a manager allow players to leave before replacements are found?

I'm pretty certain Rodgers would allow these guys to go if he had confidence that guys would be in the door. He was probably told that Kuhn would be replaced within a week. Still waiting on that here!

He was also probably told that Dolberg would be done by Monday. Hence Idah going.

We should only be selling 1st team players once guys are in the door to take their spot OR are literally at Ross Hall doing a medical. That may not always be possible but right now and in the past it seems like we don't even bother getting close to it.

Still haven't replaced Wanyama! Brugge lost Frank Onyeka to Brentford and replaced him with Onyedika, player the exact same mould. Our recruitment is all over the place. We've "replaced" Kuhn with Forrest and Yang, and 2x Left wingers.

I still think he goes for an EPL club no matter how well things were going up here, and most other managers would too, that's just the levels of scottish and english football.

Yeah I agree with that. Although on paper we signed a guy who has played RW 90% of his career before Khun had even left. He obviously wasn't a like for like replacement for Khun but Nygren was a RW.

It's not the scouting departments fault that Rodgers wants to play him CM

Nygren has played less than 50% of his games at right wing.

    Yeah Ur right sorry.

Bit of an over exaggeration. But 75 games as a RW compared to 10 as a CM before he came here so still think the scouting department would have viewed him as a Right winger.

Now you can 100% pick holes in them viewing someone with a lack of pace as Khuns replacement but it's not the 1st time our recruitment team has signed players based more on them being good players as opposed to being a good fit for our style to play.

We could do with clarifying sooner rather than later if rodgers is going to be leaving end of season. It seems highly likely now unless there is mega changes in the hierarchy and how the club is run.

There is so much work needed on the squad coming up now though. The squad is thin and full of wantaways. The fans are protesting. The mood at club is pretty toxic. The job isnt as attractive as it was a year ago. Its going to need a manager that can be entrusted with full rebuild and has a strong character.

wee bit of a PR move here from the club with this article from Rodger Hannah

CELTIC insiders believe boss Brendan Rodgers wants out of Parkhead after a split over summer signings.

SunSport understands senior figures at the club are concerned he’s trying to “engineer his exit”.

Rodgers’ remarks on Celts’ work in the transfer window have not gone down well with the Hoops hierarchy.

Earlier in the window, he urged the club to "show ambition" in the transfer market.

He also said there needed to be a major inquest after their Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty.

Rodgers was left without a replacement striker for Adam Idah after he left to join Swansea on transfer deadline day, before a last-minute raid on the free agent market saw Kelechi Iheanacho brought in.

Now some insiders believe it’s reached a critical point — and the
gaffer could go before the end of his three-year deal.

One source told SunSport: “Senior figures inside the club believe Rodgers is engineering his exit.

“What he’s said in public has torn the club apart. On and off the record discussions are creating division throughout the club

He’s the only manager in the club’s historywho has repeatedly questioned things.

It’s been the same board, same management and same strategy.

“The club have spent tens of millions.

To make matters worse, these issues appear to be seeping into the performance of the team. It’s like Groundhog Day again.”

When Rodgers returned to Parkhead two years ago, he vowed to stay for the duration of his deal.

But some insiders feel the division could see the 52-year-old leave before the end of the current campaign.

Celts have forked out huge sums on transfer fees and presided over a significant increase in the wage bill since Rodgers’ return.

The Sun article is embarrassing. If the Board and their little attack dogs think that will get them off the hook they are sadly mistaken. Jesus I hated Rodgers when he left. I couldn't look at him. Being from the North of Ireland and all the chat of being a Celtic man I felt betrayed, I felt it personally. I have never fully come around to him since his return but I would nearly be chanting his name at the next home match to give the Board the message. You are the problem- not Rodgers.

The knives are out for Rodgers.

I'm pretty sure they are lining up a new manager as we speak.

Yeah, the gaslighting and "mind games" are not going to cut it with us this time. No matter what Rodgers has or hasn't been saying or doing, this window was an omnishambles of a * like never seen in history and I firmly believe that is down to the board and DD waaaaay more than anything to do with Rodgers.

As everyone says, Kennedy, Maloney, Lennon etc is all we will get from these prehistoric * *.

Flashbacks to everyone saying this after the McGinn saga.

And being shocked, losing their * when he did * off.

I expected him to last time, was surprised how long he hung about that season and him trying to gut the full background team including guys like Woods and Kennedy annoyed me more.

This time, he’ll stay the full contract, I think it’s the only reason he returned is not being able to stand the opinion amongst fans of him. He’ll stick it out, and when he goes it’ll be we didn’t do enough for him.
