Why would any player sign for us in the future from the JLeague.

 

If he wants away that's fine and we should of sorted that however we now fully know his position.
Rodgers will need to have a chat with him now and see where his heads at. Being Japanese and their nature he will knuckle down and still work hard. I would start giving others a chance ahead of him because it's not as if he's completely undroppable. Give Shin or Kenny a run in the side to see what they can give.

The club's treatment of our Japanese contingent has been consistently poor.

True, but we shouldn't be in the situation that Rodgers has to actively use players as some sort of weapon against the board.

We're lucky the Huns have went with Martin.. Rodgers, the coaching staff and McGregor will need to be in full effect, for this season to be any sort of success.

 

Hes served us well, amd been here around 4 years, so cant complain, but whilst I think his workrate is on a world class level, hard to find anyone better, technically hes so so poor.

For me he aint and never will be a striker, last year was a purple patch.

Tbh once his legs go he offers not enough in other parts of the game thats required.

Its just business. Im sure near every member of the squad use us as stepping stones to the epl/big money etc. Hes a professional so will play 100% again now. If he doesn't, he doesn't get bought. Head up, play well and get an even better move. Prove its not a purple patch, win us the europa and leave with rodgers.

 

This is what is completely baffling about these * picking and choosing when they are financially prudent.

I don't think there is a single person in here who would disagree that the club should have taken a £20m bid for Maeda and a £17.5m bid for Kuhn. Many of us in here are actually encouraging us to do so, so that we can move on to a better standard of player to bring in, develop and sell on again. That's the way the club works. See when it comes to Maeda, especially, it was a deal we shouldn't have been ever in the position to turn down because of a lack of planning. We've been watching the guy for 2 and a half years. We can see he's not the greatest technically and any half arsed coach can see that having him and Tierney down the left hand side actually hampers them both, given they both want to occupy the same * space.

We badly need a director of football. It's becoming criminal, now.

Got them bedded into their system and performing. And came through not only 2 qualifiers but two more difficult qualifiers and still in the champions league

People have always wanted us to become the next Ajax, Porto or Benfica and that's very very difficult given they have some of the best youth set-ups in the world. We really need to look at USG, Club Brugges, Salzburg, Feyenoord. Even AZ Alkmaar do very well in the transfer market. We need to be competing with these teams for players. Not picking up their left overs, which is why I didn't want us to sign Stengs.
