We lose energy and a bit of physicality in the middle then..

Our midfield is chronically slow as it is and weak..

Would play Donovan. KT got his chance when Izzy was out suspended or was it injured?

Aye Donovan should starting 100%, Ralston is solid enough but he’s never a starter. At some point he was needing replaced or even someone getting a chance ahead of him. Can’t really fault him, for a limited player he’s done brilliant.

    Derek McGregor in the sun

CROCKED Celtic star Tony Ralston is poised to pull out of the Scotland squad - putting starlet Colby Donovan on standby for a stunning first team chance.

SunSport believes the right-back went into Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Rangers at Ibrox still feeling the effects of an ankle knock suffered in the Champions League play-off against Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan.

With Alistair Johnston already sidelined with a hamstring tear, stalwart Ralston stepped up for boss Brendan Rodgers and played the full 90 minutes.

However, the 26-year-old now needs a period of rest.

That makes him a doubt for at least the next Premiership game at Kilmarnock on September 14.

Celtic also have away games following against Partick Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup last eight plus their opening Europa League league phase tie against FK Crvena Zvezda

Should Ralston be missing, Celtic would be left with only youngster Donovan, 18, as a natural right-back in the squad.

He is, however, highly thought of and featured as a sub against Livingston and in the away leg against Kairat.

Opportunity for Donovan. Ralston should definitely sit out the Kilmarnock game. Ridiculous that we constantly ask players to play injured.

That's the managers fault. Donovan should have played against them. Rodgers doesn't seem to trust the younger players

Not ideal but Hatate can play their also.

Played their a couple of years ago v St Johnstone and actually scored twice.

Ralston is pish anyway, absolutely no loss to the squad. Could stick Hatate there again and he'd be miles better. Gives Donovan a chance at least.

I mean that's only in the off chance that Donovan also gets injured before Ralston or AJ are back

Ralston rarely lets us down. He's a solid backup option for us. I just find the double standards fascinating. AJ is allowed big mistake after big mistake v Rangers and lauded but when Ralston comes in out of the cold with little game time and does his job be gets slaughtered.

He’s not pish, dependable back up and compared to previous back up options he’s done us great.

Good. We can't risk more unnecessary injuries.

Wouldn't be totally surprised if he gets a run and pulls up. A lot of pressure on him, although i like the look of him..

He's pish. He's a dependable back up because he's not good enough to play for a similar or better club and he's happy to sit on the bench. He tries hard I'll give him that. But he's poor defensively and even worse with the ball at his feet.
