I see Lawwell a bit differently, but I totally agree on Iheanacho. Only 28 apparently! Rodgers could plausibly get him firing again and then we'll all think we've won a watch. Or he could have a stinking attitude and achieve nothing ha ha. The only thing we can do is keep an open mind, assume he deserves our support unless and until he proves otherwise and just see how it goes.

If he doesn't have the right attitude, we haven't lost anything and if he does screw the nut, we'll have got ourselves a good EPL striker in his prime for nothing a £15 million fee in January, when we sell him and don't replace him.

Having watched some Seville highlights to see what he’s like, good point is they play like us (albeit at speed). So he shouldn’t take long at all to adapt.

He just needs to chuck the swagger jagger and kebabs.

When can we expect the cringe Gerry McCulloch interview?

I don't think any of us are feeling it. I think deep down we all hope it works out, and part of me thinks Rodgers wouldn't have bothered at all if he didn't trust him.

They will be keeping out the media for the next two weeks making him cut weight like a boxer so his first media appearance he doesn’t look like Ben Stillers character in Dodge ball when he’s fat.

The problem is from those Middlesbrough videos he doesn’t look like that anymore he looked to be carrying serious weight. See if he had even been signed before preseason you could say it’s a player with technical ability but needs serious fitness work, and have had time to start that. If he still looks like how he did at Middlesbrough then you’re probably talking a significant period of time before he’s ready to play.

I saw the Sinclair comparisons being mentioned I think Dennis would more be in that camp. A guy with clear talent and never quite fulfilled his potential but has some good attributes that could really make an impact up here, with a few years ahead of him.

Only thing im clinging too is that BR got the best out of him before. Would be slightly more positive if he wasnt a big fat mess though

12 month contract shows it’s a square peg in a round hole.

I think a 12 month contract makes sense tbh.

Could be worse. Could spend 8 mill on a guy from Everton who scored 4 goals in his entire career

I think to be eligible for Europe it had to be at least that. But giving him basically the rest of this season to show he wants to and can be an important player for us makes sense. Personally I was not excited nor really in favour of this move in the past few days as I just don't think he would prove to be a success for us. But its done now and the one hope I have just like with the season in general is Brendan Rodgers. He has managed him before for a few years at Leicester City so he knows him well and hopefully can get the best out of him. However on the negative side when and its part of why I was never excited and didn't want us to make this move is his goalscoring record is very uninspiring. Even during his time at Leicester City where he had his main success as a player he only scored 61 goals in 231 games for them. Not exactly numbers to get excited about.

Rodgers having to shill for this guy is sad to see.

The fact hes emphsising hes in the prime of his career is probably a sign hes anything but.

This guy isn't some * no pedigree has-been...

Like I totally agree the window was a shambles and not getting Dolberg was a kick in the stanes. Heads should roll

But independent of that, Iheanacho is a player with good pedigree and experience. Over 200 EPL appearances, 59 caps, CL and EL experience. Worked with our manager.

He's lost his way the past year or 2 but he's young enough that it's not a lost cause.

I get people are disappointed but he's not a * player IF we can get him fit and confident.
