They have * the transfer window, * the team and * europe.

Dealing with the fallout is another test for them now though. Can they engage with the support and try and manage the backlash? Can the enact any meaningful change or committments? Can they show any communication and engagement skills dealing with unrest in the squad and support?

If they go into hiding until agm and we hear how well we are doing financially, how summer was challenging in terms of recruitment but we still brought in 11 players etc Then we know theres zero appetite for change and they reckon they have done a great job.

Im interested to see how they handle this now.

When Rodgers does eventually go. This saga will undoubtedly have a long lasting impact.

What decent manager will want to come here after learning about this * show.
Then, what decent players will want to come here with a relative unknown taking over.

I suppose they could always try phone Ange if he’s still unemployed.

The "execs" that run the club are a monumental * up, undeniable. But we have more than one finger to point. If anyone can't also see that Rodgers should be doing better than what he has over the last 9 months then, wow.

The damage being done by the board is in a different stratosphere. They have created a horrible environment for players, manager and fans. Club captain asking for players, manager asking for players, fans asking for players. Didn’t happen. We’ve now resorted to taking a * pudding on a free contract who has been released from a * Sevilla team. Yang will have chucked in the towel, he was hopeless before he did. McGregor must be wondering what the * is going on, along with his teammates, who have seen him almost begging for help. It’s a complete and utter shambles. All created by the board.

The only thing they’ll think they can do to direct blame to Rodgers for leaving them on certain for future planning.

But even that doesn’t hold any weight. There is no excuse for going into any season without the strongest squad you can possibly afford.

As a manager, and as players. What card do you have left to play at this point?

“This is where we are at lads, windows shut, we remain professional and make the best of what we have. Let’s grind through this, we all need to perform well to keep ourselves visible and attractive for potential suitors come January”

“Yeah, boss, ok. The board will just pull the rug from under our feet again”

Aye it’s now a very difficult situation. Rodgers position has actually been made untenable due to the board. His stance on Idah, which was 100% the right one, was ignored and they sold him anyway without having a replacement. So how much of a say does Rodgers actually have when it comes to transfers? It’s been made clear that some signings during the summer he had nothing to do with.

Just wait untill the EL squad lands. The disasters and fuckups aint done yet.

Iheanacho wont be in the squad 100% and then he will go on to bang 30+ in this season and we will be raging even more about him not being able to play in europe lol

They have put Rodgers in a terrible position with the sale of idah..if Brendan didn't say he'd be here for 3 year's I think he'd walk...I think after the way he left last time he thinks he can't do it again...last time we all thought you dirty *..this time we're thinking he has every right.

But I genuinely think Rodgers would have stayed longer if he was backed in this window. Its as if they've did it deliberately so he leaves

I have thought about this theory too. There are so many that we end up scrambling through trying to find a rhyme or reason.

It really could be they are just totally incompetent (the deal makers). We could have sabotaged Rodgers in a way less damaging to the club.
We have royally * off multiple clubs and agents which could/should be damaging to future business. Along with giving us a very bad and public reputation. All the while publicly humiliating our manager.

Pretty similar window to Rodgers last one in his first stint. Izzy & Mulumbu freebies then in the January a load of loan punts like Weah, Burke and Toljan.

History always repeats itself and wouldn’t be surprised if Rodgers walks later in the season if he gets a good offer. The board love a regression season to even the playing field and keep the ‘Old Firm’ dream alive. Money grabbing *.

Incompetent is probably the overriding and sensible reasoning for this nonsense.

But it doesn't help that not a single one of them comes from a sporting background.

They're all financial/commercial - or in MN case legal backgrounds. Their education and work history if for them to make money and spend as little as possible.

That starting mindset simply doesn't equate to ambition for a football club, as money needs to be spent to make a squad better and in turn potentially - but not always guaranteed - the speculate to accumulate idea.

Doesn't then help either that PL was part of the setup in the early 90s as a financial controller and I reckon he's PTSD/spooked not to have the club become financially as * as it was back then. The issue there is he has went OTT the opposite way. Financially we are sound, but we squander so much opportunities to be bigger than we are in all aspects.
He (and Desmond) have also in turn somehow made the club a job for the boys and a family dynasty again, something Fergus was adamant not to happen to the club again.

Absolutely we are incompetent when it comes to our dealings and movement of activity. But even if they cut out the (rumoured?) need to run every major signing by DD, I still think the goal of the club would to spend as little as possible as often as possible, with the odd moment like last summer.

Club in turmoil and there's the puppet master Desmond, out playing golf with that rancid wee bigot rory mcilroy.

    Says it all.

Hopefully the * takes a ball to head and enters a coma, and his * son gets hit by lightning on the way to hospital.

Thats excellent points. I think as well it's a snobbery thing with how they operate. They probably don't even consider it a major disaster window. Don't care what the riff raff think.
The irony of their hyper conservative thinking is that we would actually be making more money, enhancing our reputation both on and off the field and keeping the riff raff fans happy. That window really was staggeringly bad.

Think the Board probably looked at the Dolberg target as risky, because Anderlecht wanted £8M-£10M, for a player that flopped at Sevilla, and had only scored two competitive goals this season.

They likely still had the £26M blown on Engels, Trusty and Idah at the forefront of their minds.

What? Dolberg has 5 in 8 goals this season. 24 last season. Even if he had scored 2 as you claim, its 2 more than any of our strikers.

The fact he didn't do it at Sevilla has hee haw to do with it.
