Not the worst squad by any stretch but the striker options are probably up there, we’re now so dependent on Daizen finding his form again or Yamada coming good.

In terms of attacking options where would we be from best to worst in the league ?

Huns, Hearts, Hibs ... do they have better quality than us ?

Obviously hard to judge until we see the 2 new boys properly but even Aberdeen look to have made a decent signing.

The most obvious weakness is right wing. We seriously needed a right winger and none came in.
Assuming Maeda is going to be playing mostly as our main striker we are going to have to stick either one of Balikwisha or Tounekti on the right. Not ideal and probably unfair to whoever gets shifted there as they are going be judged as a failure/success on their unnatural side but thats the hole we’ve dug ourselves into.

Can only hope Jota returns from injury earlier than expected before both our wingers leave for AFCON otherwise we are starting Yang/Forrest in some crucial games. And we better have a signing lined up for the 1st of January ready to be thrown in to the derby on the 3rd.

Is this guy Tounetki a right winger? If so our front three would be Balikswasha, Maeda and Tounetki with Jota to come back mid season. Not too bad maybe but when the back ups are Shin, Kenny, Forrest and Yang then that becomes utterly unacceptable.

He is a left winger. Seemingly hasn’t played a game on the right. Not surprising as we are just a shambles all over the place.

There's some obvious weaknesses, and its been a shambolic window.. but I think we're in danger of overreacting a little.

We've paid a fair amount for the new wingers they need to be given a chance to see what they can do before we can say anything really.

The ST options though could definitely be argued are one if the worst we've seen. Again though, Shin or Osmand haven't really featured. So, again we can't really judge at this point.

Defence we have quality, Schmeichel, CCV, KT, AJ and Scales in particular has made an excellent start to the season. We've lost one goal in 7 thus far. With Murray showing well when he's featured, Trusty and Simpson-Pusey and cover at LB. And a chance for Donovan too. Probably our strongest area.

The midfield looks a bit stale and unbalanced but again we have quality in there, no doubt. McGregor is on the decline but isn't finished yet, Hatate is class if inconsistent, Nygren looks like a quality signing, Engels, McCowan and Bernardo would all start for any other side in the league. There's depth there certainly for domestic football.

Its down to Rodgers to get the best out of the quality in midfield. Has to recognise a change of shape is required from time to time.

Rodgers will probably have enough about him and the squad to take us to the title. Coupled with the Martin fiasco. Europa will be a non event. The Cups we're probably the most beatable we've been under Rodgers.

So, I expect a long hard season and fear for the future unless we make changes at boardroom level.

But, with this question, ask again when we've seen what the players we've brought in can do.
