Michael Nicholson

* talentless YES man.

 

He really really needs to go, and that's the most rational thing I can say about him just now.

 

Nicholson is clearly very much out of his depth in the role, and appears to be a board appointee who has been over promoted beyond his capabilities. To be in charge of getting deals down and completed and NOT making the squad stronger should be a sackable offence. To not be taking phone calls and hiding is cowardly behaviour. In any other profession or industry, this guy would be called up for his shortcomings and sent packing. Pathetic.

 

He’s merely a symptom of the utter * nature of our whole board. He’ll likely be the sacrificial lamb but it goes way way deeper than him.

 

This guy has sold our season down the river to add a few quid to the money pile.

I genuinely don’t believe this is intentional I just think he is useless at transfers and needs removed.

He has overseen 5 transfer windows now and only 1, the first was a success and that was all down to Ange and his agent.

The summer after we failed to get our main target Vini Souza and eventually ended up trying to milk a relegated Rubin Kazan due to the rules over players being allowed to leave Russia. All the other players have moved on with little return.

That winter we sold Juranovic and Giakoumakis and got Johnston who when signed was basically on par for Juranovic and Oh a big downgrade on Giakoumakis at the time. Kobayashi and Iwata also came in both moved on basically at cost neutral.

Then the summer took ages to get Bernardo in, got fleeced for Idah and Engles, Trusty and McCowan were late punts when I presume we couldn’t get who we wanted.

January sold our main striker, couldn’t replace him and still haven’t. Got Jota back which was positive but he was literally damaged goods at Rennes and we gave them a decent wedge for him but he showed he is still a good player for us.

Then this summer where do you start, an absolute disaster. Not only have we failed on incomings we have failed a number of the squad by holding them because of our failures to bring people in.

Resulting in a good deal on the table for Yang going down the tubes because our clown shoe of a CEO couldn’t answer the phone or delegate to someone to answer for him.

This is complete and utter incompetence, Stephen Welsh for example why the * are we sending 25 year old Welsh to Motherwell when he could have been playing in Belgium or a number of other leagues around Europe?

Johnny Kenny could have been away to get on with his career. We bring in Osmand what’s the plan for him?

There is then the mess that is the midfield Hatate been here too long; McGregor badly declining; Nygren doesn’t fit the system; Engels looks shot of confidence and doesn’t suit our system; Bernardo has disappeared of the face of the earth and when he does play he does nothing; and McCowan is a mid table Scottish Premiership midfielder.

On top of all that it might actually be worse than 2021 as who would we even be able to sell to fund an overhaul now? We could have this summer quite easily if we had wanted to go into the summer saying this is a rebuild, we sell Maeda and Hatate on top of Kuhn and use the funds to build a new side like we see Club Brugge doing.

He cannot continue in post regardless if he answers to above or not he is utterly hopeless at one of the main jobs he has to do, far beyond what McKay was in my mind.

 

I think though his main barometer of success is how much he makes on player trading. He will say hes earned the club 23mil profit this window. Job done. The strength of the team is clearly a distant second to profitability.

The team is rodgers problem.

 

Hopeless as he is he will made the scapegoat by the board. Whole lot of them need emptied

 

Desmond is the problem, not Nicholson imo.

 

Is he getting the boot then?

 

The very minimum we should get first thing this morning is a full written apology.

They’re all equal in my opinion.

 

Theres been a lot of quotes recently that have more or less confirmed the supporters suspicions for years. Nothing gets done without his approval.

 

Unless he's been here for about 20 year then he's not the biggest problem at the club. DD and PL only care about turning a profit out the club. Who cares how * we end up on the park in our persuit for profit.

 

Hes done reputational damage to the club this window.

 

I agree at a strategic level but at a functional operational level, Nicholson and the Finance Director McKay have shown they are severally incompetent at getting deals done when those above finally allow them to do so.

Getting rid of him doesn’t solve all our problems but his incompetence is part of the problem and needs to go.

He absolutely needs chased along with the board as a whole. The main issue though is Desmond, nothing will ever change while he is the so called majority shareholder. * don’t live on the same planet as us, they can’t get away with this one again.
