Brendan Rodgers Discussion Thread

If he was smart, he would have gotten securities. He is a millionaire and was in a good position when he negotiated his contract. His naivity is astonishing.

What saves him is, that probably any other manager would fail as well with this board. And nothing will change if they're not removed. But he is the person should have known all that.

If Rodgers walks, nothing will change. So, it doesn't matter.

 

Exactly this. If a manager of the pedigree of Rodgers can't get these * on the board to modernise what chance has anyone else got?

 

He's done my * in this last couple of weeks for on the pitch stuff, but no doubt the bigger problems off the pitch are happening around and above him. We are a disorganised * show at best and an absolute theatre of incompetence at worst.

He has to come out and call this window what it is, an abject failure. Ideally he could clarify his and everyone's else's role in said failure but ultimately that should be that rat Nicholson's job but we all know that ain't happening. If he defends them/toes the party line again then I have far less sympathy for him.

I don't agree, you are giving the board way to much credit and assuming a level of strategic thinking capability and competence they simply do not have.

This is rank incompetence / negligence - pure and simple.

If he sticks up for the board in his next interview then i have no sympathy with him whatsoever, leaving at the end of the season anyway so absolutely no reason to treat us like idiots and stick up for these crooks.

Hes going to need to prepare the squad for a tough season now and maybe get a bit of siege mentality going.

Support is out of patience and like it or not they are going to get caught in the cross fire. Some of the anger that is meant for the board will be turned on them if we start dropping points and take a few humiliations in Europe.

 

If he walks right now he'd 100% have the fans behind him.

Because even if in my earlier post im saying his coaching is also part of the problem... him walking to tonight or at any point this week will stand him in good stead with the fans as someone with principles and who sticks by what they say when it comes if celtic want to maintain - I'm not your man.

 

He won't. He's tried to be patient. Spoke about what he wanted in a round about way. Was never delivered. He's on the last year of his contract with the support as fed up as him. He'll stick the knife. Hopefully

But in his situation he should then walk and make it public. He's a millionaire, what is he affraid of to call these useless feckers out if they made him false promises?

Rodgers is part of the problem as we shouldn't failed against Kairat, even with that squad. But I do agree that we should focus on the board as that would be the change that really makes a difference and could even reignite Rodgers career here.
