    Prediction....

"Despite a huge effort by the team, we just couldn't get any of the deals over the line.
It has to be the right players and they just weren't available (versus our market valuation)
We are very confident in the squad we have already spent tens of millions on"

"And by the way. It's really, really hard to sign players on last day you know.
That transfer window creeps right up on you!
The fax machine ran out of paper and ink too.
Dermot couldn't get a signal from the Bahamas either.
We might review our process for next time, soz"

Window closes at 19:00, right? 7 and a half hours left and not a player in sight

    Any word on outgoings?

Idah, Yang, Kenny, Osmand, Inamura and Welsh probably all surplus to requirements if we do manage to get in a couple of wingers and a striker.

Very concerning it’s now coming up for midday and there is 0 concrete noise coming from the club especially when we’re needing a minimum of 3 signings to just get back to where we were last season

Hope they're bespoke, artisanal ones and not your standard Greggs.

Celtic have had all summer to bolster their squad.

But the Hoops once again find themselves working right up to the clock on transfer deadline day.

The Scottish champions are scrambling to get last-minute deals over the line after another chaotic window.

Celts have raked in fortunes from clearing out the deadwood and cashing in on £17million winger Nicolas Kuhn.

However, Brendan Rodgers has been left banging his head against the wall attempting to get quality signings in the door.

Parkhead chiefs have now been caught up in a Manic Monday ahead of tonight's 11pm transfer deadline in Scotland.

The Premiership leaders are hopeful of adding at least FOUR new faces to their squad over the coming hours - and offloading FIVE.

Anderlecht goal machine Kasper Dolberg is their top target to replace Adam Idah, who has agreed a bumper £7m switch to Swansea City.

Idah, 24, has completed his medical and is awaiting the green light from Glasgow to finalise his switch to the EFL Championship.

Rodgers made it clear he'd be unwilling to sanction the exit until he's given guarantees that another striker will be added to his squad.

Denmark international Dolberg is top of his wishlist and Celts have slapped in a THIRD bid for the 27-year-old, who is also attracting interest from Bundesliga cracks Borussia Monchengladbach. But it's claimed Dolberg has still to be sold on a switch to Scotland and would be willing to sit tight in Belgium until January if the right proposal doesn't come along.

It's believed the Double-winners will have to stump up around £8.5m to tempt Anderlecht into doing business. Dolberg came off the bench in Sunday night's wild Derby defeat to USG as his 'farewell' appearance descended into mayhem.

Rodgers confirmed on Friday that he would "ideally" like to bring in two new frontmen and a last-minute loan deal could be in the offing as the club works through a number of possibilities, although there are murmurs that Hibs hitman Kieron Bowie could be a wildcard option.

It emerged on Sunday night that the Hoops have also joined Rangers in the race to land Crystal Palace wide man Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on a season-long loan.

Leicester City and French giants Lyon have also tabled offers for the 22-year-old, who has fallen completely out of favour with the FA Cup winners.

Rak-Sakyi would add much-needed strength and depth to the wide areas, with Birmingham City confident of concluding a £3m-plus deal to land South Korean ace Yang.

Celtic remain locked in talks with Hammabry over a £5m swoop for attacker Sebastian Tounekti.

The Tunisia international, 23, revealed last night that he expects the Parkhead giants to go "all in" after scoring a penalty in Sunday's 4-0 win over Oesters IF.

Celts have already had multiple bids rebuffed by the Swedish top-flight club. Unconfirmed reports in Tunisia claim a deal has been agreed.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is keen to send new signing Hayato Inamura out on loan after landing Boca Juniors left-back Marcelo Saracchi.

Japanese rookie Inamura doesn't feature in Rodgers' first-team plans this season and could continue his development elsewhere.

Stephen Welsh has also been told to find a new club after slipping down the pecking order to sixth-choice centre-back.

The academy graduate spent the second part of last term on loan with Mechelen and has attracted loan interest from England this summer. Celtic, though, would prefer a permanent solution.

Meanwhile Johnny Kenny remains a loan target for Bolton Wanderers and could be allowed to leave if Celtic land two new forwards.

The 22-year-old has earned his first international call-up with Republic of Ireland and is keen to play regular first-team football.

At least there's a few names floating about. I remember plenty of windows where there hasn't even been a link, which is even worse.

I'm confident, no I'm not joking, that we'll get 3 in the door at least.
