I think Balikwisha could play centre as well. These 4 Antwerp games he predominantly played in CAM. https://www.transfermarkt.de/michel...plus/0/saison/2025/wettbewerb/BE1/verein/1096

I'm still of the opinion that by the time Jota is fit and ready to start Maeda will be long gone

I'd expect Balikwisha to be on the right more than Maeda.

Going to be even more of a struggle with Ralston playing that side.

Wouldn't be as bad with AJ over and under lapping constantly.

Its baffling, we should have changed shape with the players we have! But we are a one trick pony these days.

You might be right tbh, wouldn't be completely shocked if Maeda leaves in January.

    Not leaving this window though

Aye I think he mite as well. Unless we are doing well in Europa then he mite fancy sticking around another few months.

Still think it will be next pre season before we see the best of Jota again tho

Yeah I think a diamond in midfield would really suit the players we have too but we'll never know

This one is dead isn't it.

Deadline Day. No fee agreed, the boy is in Sweden and we have have 12 hours to agree a fee with the club, agree terms with the player, conduct a medical and file all the paperwork.

The likelihood is we will get a few loans in today and they will be from the UK.

At this point last year the Engels and Trusty deals were well on the way. McCowan was always only an hour up the road and had been on standy all summer. We knew Dundees demands and it wouldn't be a problem for us to meet.

Deadline deals are often done without medicals or pending a medical. It’s plenty of time to get the deal done if we’re keen enough.

Not with us though. I can't remember us going into a deadline day before we hadn't a fee agreed for a player from a different country (outside England at least) and get them signed on the day itself.

Engels, Trusty and McCowan were all at Celtic Park last Deadline Day and they went to the wire on them. It's too late to conclude multiple deals at this point. We might get Dolberg done, I'd be shocked if this one or another permanent signing, outside of the UK gets done today along with Dolberg.

I'm predicting 0-2 signings today, 50/50 on whether we'll get Dolberg done and 60/40 on a loan deal from an English club being concluded.

Jota and Carter-Vickers were both last day of the window signings

They were loan signings though. And CCV was only coming up from England. The Jota deal was also very well progressed at this point, he was in Glasgow on Deadline Day. CCV was a late one but it was a loan deal from the UK.

We've have less than 12 hours left now. Dolberg is the only permanent signing arriving IMO and that's a 50/50 shot. If we manage to get another body in the door, it will be a loan deal from the UK.

Just had a look back at the Jota thread there from when we signed him, deal with Benfica was agreed a few days in advance of deadline day and he was flying in to complete the formalities.

The Engels and Trusty deals were all very advanced at this point - terms agreed, final negotiations on the fees etc. Players either in Glasgow or enroute.

We are nowhere near that type of advanced state in any deal at the minute with less that 12 hours left. We're in utter desperation mode every, we are so * at the minute it actually makes every transfer window before this one seem like a good one.

I can't get over the optimism some fans have in a board that consistently shows its incompetence to us.

I think we'll scramble on UK loan deal over the line and we might get the Dolberg deal done. Best case scenario is 2. Worst is 0 and that would not shock me one bit if we don't get anyone in the door.

For the money that’s being spoken about this guy, I’d far rather we go back to Go Ahead with our tail between our legs and pay the money for Breum. Looks a far better prospect and numbers seem to be a lot better

Get Breum in as well, we badly need more creativity in the middle of the pitch. More the merrier at this stage.
