I hope I will see some good news today on that front mate! But i feel bit worried. Cause we left it late and also the troubles at Anderlecht. The power of their hardcore element cannot be underestimated. They have the power to force something. The main shareholder will do a public announcement today(probably on the sacking of the chairman), he will have had pressure by that fringe element, who have ties into organised crime rtc… and they were totally not keen on selling Dolberg. It defo worries me.

 

I’m not convinced I want him to be honest.

I’m sure he’s a good player but I don’t want players that are unsure if they want to be here.

This is probably my biggest problem with Rodgers. He wants us begging players to come here. I can’t stand that.

We are genuinely the most toe curling club when it comes to negotiating these transfers, it won’t be long and no one agents or clubs will do business with us. It seems those trying to negotiate deals are so far out of touch.

In the last few years we had:

- the three South Korean boys we couldn’t agree terms on and we eventually signed two of them, 1 at the end of that window Oh and for about £2.5m and Kwon in the summer for like £800k. Cho the best of them at the time eventually moved for about £3m, so not a lot of money. We spent a full January chasing them to land one.
- We had the Idah and Bernardo scenarios last year eventually overpaying for one and sing in the other for about £3m but it took forever to do.
- We have been laughed at by Go Ahead Eagles this summer for embarrassing lowball offers and probably countless others bid like €2m for that Janssen that went for about €10m.

The folk conducting these deals need to get real and they have about 12 hrs to do it now or face losing a league that should be a sure thing and add that to the failing to beat minnows to get CL football.

We want to be world class in everything we do though, Nicholson said so himself.

 

The only things we have been world class at recently are:

- giving jobs to the Bhoys regardless of fit for roles
- getting bounced out the CL by minnows
- making one of the worst Rangers teams going look better than us
- Paying ridiculous levels of tax for a football club
- making the wrong decisions at any point we possibly can.

World class at all the above.

 

There's no reason for this not to be done. We must have an idea of his wages so surely we know we can stretch to what he likely wants.

It is us though so maybe not.

 

World class at bringing in dough

 

There was no reason for moves not have been made in the last 2 months.

When you leave deals this late you are looking for bother. The damage has been done in the last 2 months and the preceding time we had to prepare for the summer window. What happens today is a result of months of incompetence preceding it. Deadline day is a minefield which is why most clubs don't go into it with a whole host of issues that need fixing. The majority of clubs will have shut their shop at this point bar offloading a few players they don't want.

 

Not even good at that. They have cost us £20m in the past week.
