Yeah he wants to show respect to fans this time and honour the promise to do 3 years but he'd probably make the fans happier if he just left it this is the way the season is going to be.

Actually don't think fans would have same reaction to him walking this time as last time and he mite do more damage to his relationship with the fans if he stays

Do you not think it then comes down to the players not taking responsibility. Rodgers is clearly asking them to move it quick, otherwise he wouldn’t be saying it in interviews. Players also then need to be big enough to want the ball and have the confidence to move it. We don’t have that just now. The lack of movement is also killing us.

It's not just 'top class clubs'... it's something that any competent manager should be having their team work on, club or country. Set pieces are the one thing that can be practiced and drilled at training for use in match conditions. And in games when things are not clicking or just need to find a goal somehow, how valuable they are.

When was the last time anyone heard the phrase "a well worked FK/corner/set piece' in relation to Celtic?

Over the past 6 World Cups, nearly 30% of all goals have come from a set piece of one decription or another. This includes goals coming either directly or indirectly from a freekick or corner which results in a goal within 20 seconds of it being taken, or from the penalty spot - but this does NOT included shootouts. The last 2 WCs have increased that. It was over 38% in 2018, and about 34% in 2022, but from 1998 onwards, it is still nearly 30% overall. That is huge.

From January 5th (when Trusty scored one) til today Celtic have had 288 corner kicks, and have scored just once in that time. Between 3-5% of all goals across all professional football (depeinding on League) come from corners. Celtic's current rate is closer to 0.3%.

But it's not just set pieces.

in so called 'big games' Celtic have really hit the skids. Since Jan 1 2025, Celtic have played Sevco 4 times for 0 wins, have played 6 European games for 1 win, and 2 games at Hampden in the Scottish Cup, winning only 1 of these.

The 1 European win was against Young Boys... who had been in atrocious form, and when we played them they were sitting in 9th in Swiss League, had lost all 6 of their previous CL games and were on their 3rd manager of the season, and yet Celtic only barely managed to scrape past at home, 1-0.

The Scottish Cup SF win was against St J, who were relegated at the end of last season, and who, lets not forget, had beaten Celtic just 2 weeks prior. Noone needs reminding about the Final.

In the 2024/25 League, Celtic garnered 42 points from 20 games since the turn of the year, which is only marginally better than Sevco's 40 from 20 - and remember, they were not even able to win at home in like 7-8 games straight and sacked their manager during that time, and we were only marginally better than them,.. while Hibs also had 40 points from their last 20 League games...

It is not about the lack of new faces in the building - that is important, but seperate issue.

This is about a manager who has turned lack of imagination into an artform. Stale formation and tactics have made the team predictable with no Plan B, nor able to really call upon a set piece here or there to give the Bhoys the edge. It has made us much easier to defend against.

I cannot begin to fathom what Rodgers spent his summer doing during the off-season, let alone pre-season, with the team appearing flat, leggy and lacking energy, creativity and toothless in attack. Does BR pay attention during games or just not know how to react when opposition are doing something that has once again nullified what Celtic are, aside from substitutions? How to tweak and adjust? There is the theory of diminishing returns from doing the same thing over and over, at some point it isn't going to keep maintaining the same level of productivity.

Buying new players is undoubtedly a positive thing, but it is also a lot more expensive than when a manager, who is already being paid £3m per season, is supposed to be able to come up with a few ideas on how to change things up is incapable of doing so. With all the resources that he has, which is a lot more than anyone else in Scotland, and yet, how would he fare if in charge of Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen, St M or whatever? If not, what is he getting all that money for? Writing a team sheet and facing a few questions from the media.

Canny wait till he goes. Atrocious football.

Hopefully do enough to win the league. Not even expecting a double with this style.

After that - something different please

Im actually fearing us in the europa league now first game away can guarantee we get pumped of the one favorites for the group .first home game kick aff 17:45 * atmosphere ..his turgid passing to the opposition will get found out big time against most of these teams ..domestically will get away as most teams are on par with * San Marino..im done wae him .the longer he stays the more we regress
The whole team getting worse under him

We are hanging our hat now on 2 or 3 players coming in tomorrow to completely transform the team. Because its pretty clear at this point Rodgers wont be changing anything.

Maybe it will happen, and a few players in provide a spark which relights the fire in the team. But Im honestly not confident anymore that this will have the desired effect. A more drastic overhaul of the set up may be required.

That Rangers team was begging to be beat and their fans looking for any excuse to get on their back. But we couldnt have made it easier for them with our lack of urgency or intent to go forward and attack. Not even a shot on target til 60 odd mins.

Spot on. We could do a lot worse than Brendan but since roughly January the football has been slow and dull.

This team has reached the end of its cycle regardless.

There's players in there that need replaced.

He's improved Hatate, Johnston and Maeda. O'Riley too, before them.

I don't think they've completely regressed. But we are going through a rough period at the moment with a lot of * going on.

Not one for bringing him back and don't think he'd take it anyway but I was thinking about him today sitting somewhere in oz watching that game and watching the majority of his players pass the ball sideways and backwards and wondered what he would of thought of them now

I would absolutely love to here what Ange thinks of the football we play now.

Would resonate with a lot of our supporters.

Can talk about Rodgers being a better tactician or whatever, which by the way is heavily debatable. But all I know is I enjoyed watched Postecoglou's Celtic team a lot more than I've enjoyed watching Rodgers'

Wonder if he sat and watched us in Europe last season and wondered if he had more of a plan B he might have done better. Probably not, just like he probably didn’t bother about today.
