We are ignoring it continually year after year.

We are constantly bullied. Our stats for 2nd balls, recoveries, tackles etc have to be shockingly bad. Surely.

Last season I would say rangers dominated the middle of the park in most of the games against us, the worry is we still have effectively the same middle of the park if you count Nygren as a wide player , even then he’s not gonna boss the middle.

think we have been crying out for a ball winning midfielder for years and still not one arrives.

More worryingly is that Brendan only ever picks out the front 3 as an issue.
Does he see the midfield as an issue?
Does he see the #6 / midfield physicality as a problem?
    Surely he does?

The midfield is chronic at the minute, which coupled in with an absolutely embarrassing forward line makes for some eye bleeding stuff.

We’ve got no pace or legs in there and while it’s fine continually saying well our midfielders are good players they’ve just got no options they aren’t showing it at moment. Every single one of them are guilty of going back too quickly or just play a simple 5 yard pass rather than trying to actually create something. The obvious caveat to that is our front line is so dreadful we’re completely reliant on them being good but it’s grim at the moment.

McCowan needs to be playing far more than what he is. Even when he’s not playing well he at least looks like he’ll make something happen.

Should be every bit a priority as the forward line is. How many times can we watch the exact same performance without addressing it

Did anyone try and burst through today ? Only player to do it was ccv . That midfield is one of the weakest I’ve ever seen , in terms of heart , fight etc . Up against diamonde and barron , jesus we should be destroying them .

I posted the other day about the lack of drive from our midfield. Armstrong did it brilliantly during BR 1st season.

KT as a wide fullback is messing with balance of the midfield

This has to be the last season with his midfield imo.

We look unbelievable slow in there, and none of the players are that physical either.

The forwards take a lot of the stick but the problem starts here. They can hardly get the ball out our half and when we do the wingers are isolated.

Should put Engels in CDM with Bernardo and McCowan ahead for a bit to try it. Need to do something different.

    Slow, weak, passive!

I could go on and on, needs a midfield destroyer at 6 and 2 creative tough mids in front.

After being linked with Souza few windows back, there's been nothing at all regarding CM. We've not bothered our * at all. And its become the elephant in the room.

    Needs a total revamp.

    McGregor and Hatate need dropped.

Both are weak as * and they are offering nothing on the ball either.

Engels, Bernardo and Nygren all need run of games in their proper positions before I judge them. Although I wouldn’t play the 3 of them together.

Been saying it for nearly 10 years now we need a Wanyama type.

How Rodgers and Ange have failed to bring that type of profile in is madness to me.

I hate our midfield at the moment. You can moan about our lack of quality upfront but this midfield needs addressed just as much.

    Merged both the threads.

Interesting to read back. Same comments rearing their head again and often it's after a big game in Europe or vs the Huns.

Honestly think we should have punted hatate this summer.

To me it's down to tactics in these games. Even Russell Martin knows you man mark Mcgregor and our whole system doesn't work.

You could easily put mccowan or bernardo sitting with Mcgregor and have nygen playing the Rogic role with engels coming on for him.

I honestly think if you brought in the right Manager and a fresh approach the players we have would respond.

Rodgers typically has 2 good seasons at a club and things go stale. Either bored of his tactics or players get sick of listening to his *

Don't get what people see in Reo Ha-tottie.

Ok he scored two in his first game against them, and has some good moments, but most of the time he's a "man down"

Should have been hooked much earlier today. Probably about 11.55 am

I think the midfield is the canary in the coal mine pointing to a failure of system - because its the one area of the pitch where we do have depths and options. Its not like the front 3 where lack of options can be blamed.

We are lucky we were up against Martins hun side with their confidence on the floor. Because I think had we faced the slightly less * Rangers team we faced last year then our midfield would have been bossed.
