Fair dos you giving your opinion on MAB today, that's a different discussion. Biggest issue for me was his lack of pace and moreso unwillingness to take on his man. Never had and put in a graft I'll give you, but otherwise it was a poor debut.

You’re not understanding the logic you’re claiming others are using. It isn’t a blanket statement that a debut can’t be judged. But a debut needs to be looked at as part of the bigger picture, which people are failing to do.

If he had a shocker, that would quite rightly be judged. He didn’t, yet people are acting like he did.

I stated the exact moments Scales was good and bad. That’s not playing down, that’s a proper evaluation of a game and part of a larger discussion about us being able to do better than him.

You don’t need pace to go past a man. It does help.

We will see if/when he actually starts doing it. Rodgers mentioned wanting him to, so I imagine you’ll start seeing it. He absolutely should have gone at Tavernier today but it doesn’t make it a bad performance by any means.

What did you make of Balikwisha's contribution? He was sort of thrown in at the deep end.

No, no, he was thrown in at the deep end. It's a tough one, but in terms of wingers, he goes in and he shows some nice touches and he shows nice balance.

Once he gets up to the speed and the aggression and everything that we need, I think he's going to be a really good player for us.

So, yeah, tough game to come in away at Ibrox, but yeah once he gets that real positivity in his game, he'll hopefully do well.

Looked like he did in his videos; not a great 1v1 winger; not pacey or tricky; safe, link up play type who needs support and runners (didn't get either of those today).

Hoping he can improve with time as he gels with those around him and they learn his strengths. Fear that we've signed him out of desperation and he's not much better than we've got. Jota is comfortably a better player if I'm judging him on the little I've seen so far.
